Although I did have a window seat, the gps receiver was placed on the pull-down tray.

virtual earth?

I have eight map repositories loaded for Maemo Mapper. One of them is named VE Satellite which I always assumed meant Virtual Earth.

More ammunition for the die hard, a comparison of N8x0 vs N900 on liveTV streaming using orb thread #19, hot from the press :)

Personally, my transition from n800 to ipod touch is complete. I now have the ability to use a bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth dun with my phone's data connection. Yes, I had to pay for these things, but all told it was cheaper than my inflation-adjusted n800 price. Wish I could change the batteries, however.

I'm with you Den. I bought mine in 2006 and for the life of me can't imagine why I'd give it up. I stream hometown radio, check my mail, call with Skype and Gizmo, take the occasional note, photo, etc. It's been my faithful companion on all my frequent travel around Europe and Asia. And with my B Speech GPS receiver I get great GPS navigation on my scooter - very useful here in Kuala Lumpur. I'll be in home in the States this summer and will probably buy a used on eBay, given a price of about $100.

Keep on enjoying.

Chris

You know what, that looks great full screen on a 15" laptop screen.
