Re: Maemo Community Council: September election announcement
So, Texrat, I added zerojay to your room on the wiki when I was over adding myself to the list.
I added myself to a new room rather than choosing someone else, because I like surprises and as long as you don't snore (and don't spend 45 minutes in the bathroom every morning), I'm sure I'll be fine... So I'll just see if anyone adds themselves to my room. (And hey, if nobody does, that's ok too) |

Re: Maemo Community Council: September election announcement
PB, I was very glad to see you jump in, and here's why:
It will be good for the council The council needs a multitude of voices, and must cover as broad a spectrum of views as reasonably possible in order to be truly representative. We don't need a body of "yes men" or naysayers-- we need a collection of open-minded yet opinionated people to bring various viewpoints to the table and enrich the experience. The council could use an occasional "shaking up" and you are certainly the candidate for it. ;) It will be good for you You've done quite a bit of good for the Maemo community but at the same time you lean more toward individual goals and rewards. You have often challenged and even ridiculed consensus views, especially when they are out of alignment with your own. Working on a team at this high level will allow you to perhaps see that giving forth is not necessarily the same as giving in, and that there are indeed times when what benefits a group can also benefit individuals. I wish you success! :) |
