Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
This just in!!!
I phoned the real Nokia aka *http://shop.nokia.co.uk* and here's what he said . All orders ship from their european warehouse. Not just the N900 but all . Orders are being packed and shipped today for those who preorderd. It could arrive on Saturday but most likely it will arrive on monday 23rd . They have never heard of Nokiaretail . They have never heard of Mobilephonesdirect He even asked me for their websites so he could look them up :D:eek::confused::eek: . No stock has been sent to retailers . Stock will be available to Nokia Flagships before it hits retailers So in summary. EVERYTHING I SAID about mpd is correct. They are talking hogwash. But more importantly If you order through *http://shop.nokia.co.uk/* today or tomorrow you could get your device on the 23rd also as like i said/was told deliveries are being handled by the warehouse Good luck |

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
The young lady I spoke to (yes, nokia.co.uk) said they were inundated with calls. I apologised on our behalf, and said there was a lot of misinformation on the net and confusion with nokia-retail.
She couldn't give me an exact date for dispatch, but assured me that nokia.co.uk orders will all be sent out next week, in the order in which they were received. She sounded like she'd be quite relieved when they ship! I felt sorry for her. Regardless of who is 'to blame' I don't think she was. She apologised profusely for not being able to give me anything more definite, but she did know that the phones are already being dispatched in other countries. I'd say those who ordered from nokia.co.uk should be n900ing by this time next week. Not so sure about anyone else. |

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
I've had similar information from shop.nokia.co.uk saying 'tentative' now the 23rd for delivery. I checked that by delivery they meant to *me* not to them. Which they confirmed.
So my remaining question, if they genuinely believe there is any chance of getting it to me by Monday, then why still tentative? |
Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
Because they, like everyone else, are afraid Nokia is bullshitting them. Even though they ARE Nokia.

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information
Soooo .... confused.
Am I right in saying then that Nokia Flagship Store is Nokia themselves? That is what is causing confusion as MPD specifically said on their website "exclusive to OUR flagship stores" which make it sound like they are one and the same, which clearly they are not. If MPD run the London Flagship Store (which I presume not based on information so far) then why would it get it before the rest and pre-orders? If they do not, then why the hell do Nokia have two different kinds of retail outlets, one which is run by Nokia and the rest run by MPD? |
