Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
I regret not having buying it earlier too :)
I'd not change N900 even for iPhone 4 or Samsung Galaxy SII (if I had limitless budget I'd buy iPhone after all... to sell it and buy N900 :) ) Best phone ever 4me. In it's time K800 was great but in our time, N900 exceeds all the iPhones and Galaxys 4me. AFAIK no other phone can run Debian apps. So IMHO nothing but a successor can withstand with N900. EDIT: A funny possibility of an ad of N900 came in my mind Quote:

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
I love this phone despite its downsides such as it gets laggy time to time. After ownig a bunch of Symbian phones from Nokia and getting different models each few months I bought N900 as my first touchscreen phone from ebay after the price dropped a little. After 15 months I still have it and cant imagine a device that could replace it except N950 which is anyway not for general public :( Of course Iam going to get N9, but I feel that I will miss the keyboard so badly...so maybe I decide to stick with this amazing device for rest of my life ;)
its just complete disaster this elop/wp7 thing |

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
i dont regret buying it two years ago, but i do regret that i dont use it for all its worth. i guess what i wanted then and what i want now are different. i see my wife with her shiny iphone 4 and how quick and easy she gets around her phone and how reponsive it is. my N900 takes much longer to do almost every task. i almost refuse to even use it as a camera anymore if my wifes iphone is around. over all i HAVE been happy, just feeling its not the super phone it used to be or i supossed to be anymore. reasearching now on mx nesxt phone.. IOS or Android...

I reget it. NOT
(couldn't resist, someone probably made that before) |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
I love my N900, don't know when there will be a phone to match it so I will soldier on. I did have to fix the USB bt that was an easy surface mount solder job for a guy who builds ham radios for a hobby. It runs Debian, I can use my regular ham radio applications with it. The plethora of standard input/output options means I have used it as a desktop machine on vacation with a bluetooth keyboard, mouse, and TV set, a dream from the 80's. I managed to squeeze 10 years form the Sharp Zaurus SL-5500, hope I wont need to keep my N900 that long. OTOH I don't see an open Linuxy replacement on the horizon yet.

Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
Buying my n900 was the best investment I've made in a phone. My first n900 had some touch screen issues which, after a few services, I got a full refund for. I then bought a new N900 for 200 $ less then the original one and now that my new n900 had been in on service i got a E7 in replacement that i will crave swapped for a N9 in a couple of weeks. :D
Best 600 $ i've ever spendt! |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
well i have 2x N900 now so can't say i regret buying a N900, been looking around but nothing still really says YES!!!
only cool tech but not in one compleate package, like a new galaxy with a 5.3" screen with a res of 1280x800!!!! but still missing all the functions +OS that the N900 has. |
Re: Anyone regret buying N900?
Is it better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all?
...That's how I feel about my unfortunately retired N900, when I compare it to the current competition. |
