Oh, there is a small bug in the uninstaller, compare install.sh and uninstall.sh and you can adjust or download the new version ;-)

I guess that this line im missing a /:
rm -f "/usr/share/locale$lang/LC_MESSAGES/navit.mo"
Should be:
rm -f "/usr/share/locale/$lang/LC_MESSAGES/navit.mo"

Is this correct?

Ok now got navit from testing to load and display a map, but my screen tooks different from the one posted by schnebeck.

Also crashes trying to input a destination.

The street names on the map are also not easy to read

Thanx...where should I place it?

Re: Navit on N900

@rmarcus copy the file to Mydocs and the from a shell do:

echo '<map type="binfile" enabled="yes" data="/home/user/MyDocs/<name of mapfile"/>' > /home/user/.navit/maps.xml

where you replace <name of mapfile> with the filename of the downloaded map

shoud it be like this?

Re: Navit on N900

yes it looks correct. You don't need to be root since this homedir for user that is owner. It's actually better to be user so the files get the right owner.
