Random Q: does this mean AT&T has to go back to the drawing board as it can no longer claim "America's fastest 3G network"?

How is that "not true"? Somebody posted that for "DC"...not "Maryland". Its just like me getting 3Mb in Philly, on Broad Street by Central High", but only 1Mb 20 blocks further north...and that's w/$10 plan.

fine ill goto DC to test it. when i say md, i realize the state is a decent size, however im so close to DC that i guess i misrepresented my statement. i didnt think that i had to be in the city limits ... but regardless you hold a point that i will go and test.

Good luck with that.

Someone on another forum got 5Mb "per mobilespeedtest.com", on their BBerry "in the I-95 corridor". This ia an increase from 3Mb he got last week.

No joy for me...still under 1Mb from Fort Meade to Dulles, down 95-495, as of Sat., and closer to Baltimore tonight.

If I'm away on a trip, for days at a time (or hours for that matter), and "live sports" or "live shows" are on, why would I go back home, record it, and save it to my phone, when I could just watch it live? Or watch directly from my DVR? WIth sling, I was able to watch an entire broadcast of the Tour de France "live", while in a car, 500 miles from home.

Either you are not aware of the benefit of streaming live TV to your phone, or do not care for the feature, but I do.

Posted this on HoFo recently but thought some of you guys might be interested.

I visited speedtest.net on my N900 recently and got the following result:

For the record, I'm in Falls Church, VA - about 10 miles south west of Washington DC. I've noticed that the speeds only hold up within a few square miles of where I live, but within that range it's pretty consistent and I'm able to pull 4-5MB downloads/1MB uploads with ease. 7MB+ happens occasionally.

The irony is that my house is the last place I need such high-speeds since I have wifi access. :) I tried testing it in a few other areas in Northern VA and the best I was able to pull down was around 3MB. For the most part I'm getting ~1MB in the area.

Thanks for the update. I'm still in the 1Mb range as of yesterday, and came accross this article about the upgrade's "completion":
