I did some experiments with black silicone rubber as a non-slip material for the base. It works very, very well. I just need to figure out the right way to apply it... 90% of the way there:

The big thing is to figure out how to apply the silicone rubber so it comes out smooth... without much work. I'll figure something out.

the n900 has the stand from the N96

it was worse on the n96, was even more useless!!
