Re: N900+JoikuSpot= NO internet
whats so good about joikuspot compared to mobilehotspot?
i use mobilehotspot everyday, wich is free and never have any problems. wich made me think joikuspot is a waste of money when mobilehotspot is free.. but maybe its better? since people use that instead? confused :) |
Re: N900+JoikuSpot= NO internet
Personally I don't use JoikuSpot too often, actually I don't even remember when was the last time.
This is just a good option for laptop/etc... to have an access point when no free WLAN available (i.e. when travelling...). Mobilehotspot might be better, but never tried that one. Don't know about others. Edit: Thanks for this little push to check Mobilehotspot ;) Installation is easy and it seems to work OK (editing now via Mobilehotspot connection). |

Re: N900+JoikuSpot= NO internet
Hmm having an issue here. i uninstalled the enhanced kernel and reinstalled via app manager.
After I reboot I still get ls -l /lib/modules/current /lib/modules/current -> 2.6.28-omap1 So it seems as tho power kernel isn't installed? Tho I ran the install from app manager with no errors... Could this be due to the NIT droid dual boot I have? I notice the NITdroid no longer works ever since I uninstalled/reinstalled enhanced kernel |
Re: N900+JoikuSpot= NO internet
Try via terminal:
Code:
sudo gainroot Code:
apt-get install kernel-power-flasher kernel-power kernel-power-modules Code:
apt-get install kernel-power-settings |

Re: N900+JoikuSpot= NO internet
What do you get from
Code:
uname -r And directory listing from Code:
ls -l /lib/modules 2.6.28-omap1 2.6.28.10power46 Forward is on your own risk: If so far everything is OK, you could changes linked directory manually. Code:
sudo gainroot |
Re: N900+JoikuSpot= NO internet
I installed the enhanced linux kernel for power users via app manager a few days ago. I rebooted and ran those commands. Any idea where I went wrong?
Nokia-N900:~# uname -r 2.6.28-omap1 Nokia-N900:~# uname -r 2.6.28-omap1 Nokia-N900:~# ls -l /lib/modules drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 7600 Dec 26 13:07 2.6.28-omap1 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 19640 Dec 26 13:07 2.6.28.10power46 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 2088 Dec 26 13:07 2.6.28.NIT.06 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Dec 31 1969 current -> 2.6.28-omap1 should I run that last command? ie. Re: N900+JoikuSpot= NO internet
Don't run last set of commands!
Please, post your problem to Overclock thread. You seems to have files in place, but kernel was not changed. Edit: You might want to try this one: Kernel Power, Issues after multiboot or Nitdroid installation |
