@lma
That things looks HUGE!

For the lack of a proper reference point and no convenient rulers in the photo (not a FCC photo, lol), I'll go based on the iphone in one of the photos.

Assuming that's a iphone 4th gen...that's roughly 4.5x2.31x0.37".
Mentally rotating the iphone 90degrees and extrapolating, I'd say the SH-10B has a good inch, inch and half width more than the iphone. Flipped open you are looking at a height of about 1.3x times the portrait height of the phone, and looks to be just under twice as thick.

So my crude estimation is 5.85x5.25x0.60" flipped open. The height of each half is about 0.5" more than the iphone. Closed I'd guess 5.85x3.63x1.20". *grabs a ruler* The N810 is ~5.00x2.89x0.52".

As far as pocketablity concerns go the closed height is 3/4"+ which would just be higher up in a pocket and thus is largely not a concern. However the closed width of nearly an inch could be hit and miss depending on the size of the pocket. Plus the thickness is like carrying two N810s in the same pocket.

I'd group the SH-10B in a category (size-wise) between a MID (N810) and UMPC.

It's definitely an interesting device and the driver lock-down situation is gonna make or break it. (from our perspective not it's marketability)

According to this it's 148 x 83 x 17.8 mm, a bit larger than an N810 (72 * 128 * 14 mm) but quite close to an N800 (75 × 144 × 13 (/18) mm). It's definitely within the range of what I would consider acceptable, but of course YMMV.

IMHO the difference is more than justified by the much larger screen and full QWERTY, though looking at the pics it seems they could have shaved a cm or two and still accomodate those.

The only problem is that it is kinda big and it runs Windows, but you should very easily be able to put Ubuntu or Fedora on it. Pricing is unknown. The thing also has keyboard.

WOW! I should have made one of the criteria be "looks great"! That thing is hideous! :) Otherwise, thank you for sharing: looks big (like you said), but promising!

I agree. My tired eyes would appreciate a screen tthat is about the size of the entire N800 face. Maybe 5.5 inches diagonal.

BTW, would anybody happen to know of a support forum for the M528? I'm seriously thinking of picking one up... especially now that FF support is being dropped for the N810.

You really can't buy a Gigabyte m528, but you can buy a Aigo MID from various places http://www.dhgate.com/aigo-mid-p8880...f12d31308.html and http://www.shopkami.com/index.php?op...category_id=84

Wow! $364 isn't a bad price at all! :) Thank you! If I didn't just get a G2 and a new laptop, I would seriously look into this. I guess life is all about timing.

I'm going to think about buying one of these Aigo mids.

I did some more research, and unfortunately, support is pretty much dead for these devices. :(
