Re: very upset about Ovi store

There's no way I'm going to be buying anything ever from Ovi Store while it has these hidden transaction charges.

I only expect to pay the price that is shown alongside each application - no extras. Nothing. If that means Nokia need to pull their finger out and create a UK or "local" version of Ovi then so be it, that's a cost they'll have to bare if they want to be successful rather than p1ss off every last one of their non-Finnish customers who will only make one purchase and then never return.

Maybe Nokia only need to create a "local" payments system, one for each country to avoid these "transaction" charges (I'm assuming they're appearing because of foreign currency - I've never seen such charges on a Visa or Mastercard Credit Card). Nokia need to make the purchase of applications as painless as possible and these unexpected and unquantifiable charges make it anything but painless. Ordinarily, the hidden charges of $1-$2 wouldn't be so bad when buying something worth $100 or more, but when these hidden and unexpected charges amount to almost 50% of the price of the item being purchased, it's utterly ridiculous.

For some reason, this seems appropriate here, given the cheaper game talk:

You know what's surprising. That nobody had come forward about these extra charges until really now. I can't recall anybody else talking about it - until this thread.

If 'being expensive' is Ovi's only shortcoming, i think we wouldn't have been raising as much hell as it's been on this thread.

you just haven't noticed. I've complained at least twice about my 11x 1,43e charges after unsuccesful angry birds levelpack 1 purchases. and I remember atleast one another guy who had similar problems.

I feel all guilty...

but you know, I'm customer, and will ever be a customer.

I don't know "d" of develop, and I don't want to care about those behind develop things,

all I, and "normal" customer care about is "quality and price."

now, the SAME EXACT game over there, is only a dollar, and when I was buying this "Level Pack," I thought ovi will give me full game. at least. like, you know, pretty all of the games, you pay and get a full game. not, like pay per levels.

and this is like one level is more expensive than over there's FULL GAME.

$6 to $1 is pretty huge to me. ME as not developer, not geek, just lowest end of food chain user. who just pay and get an app.

I KNOW what's so hard and so, but really, I wanna talk whole lot about this too, but I already stated myself as "fool customer," I won't. (I really am a fool customer.)

and my friend, ALL OF MY FRIENDS who owns that thing had angry bird, and I asked how much is it? and he said $.99" and I was like. oh really. well, he was my friend, I don't even have full app now. never will be.

they priced angry bird way too expensive. way TOO expensive.
I'm not trying to raise fight *again* but it's true. I don't wanna be good to Rovio or ovi for this, I know N900 user is like 1:100000-- to iPhone.

but for me, this game is only ported to these two phones,

I just feel like discrimination. really.
I feel like,... disdained.

well, whatever you guys say to me, throw eggs at me, but this is what I think.

BUT the OP has already put his remark in a specific context. He was complaining about how apps are more expensive on maemo than on iPhone. You've misinterpreted his post.

I thought this elitist attitude is reserved for the mindless iSheep drones...

no I didn't. These are the most idiotitic arguments ever.

I am totally pissed about people who think they can change inevitable things by ranting here. that is where my "elitist" (imo realistic) attitude comes.

I usually get x0 - versions of games at least couple euros cheaper than ps3 versions. What gives?

Then you shouldn't get too upset when another realistic attitude counters yours. The fact that you've also (as you've stated, and you were right, I hadn't noticed) ranted about getting charged 11 times and have now seemed to just come to either: accept it or understand it as part of their system just plain sucks.

No excuse to put up with such a ****ed up system. Fanboy, loyal customer or downright idiot... nobody deserves to be screwed over. Say otherwise and I'll suspect that you just want to argue your point.

The system is flawed. It needs to be fixed. And it complaining about people complaining about it... quite possibly the most ironic thing I've ever seen.

They do, if you actually would take your time to read disclaimers.
It's clearly stated in the Ovi store conditions § 3.2.4.

No, I didn't read it either, but I wasn't surprised either, because I was expecting some international transaction fee already.
