I finally got Firefox 4 installed - after lots of trials: uninstall old / disable meamo repos / click on the magic button in mobile firefox page.

Now I have install plugins and can start "fennec" from terminal but not with the hildon fennec.desktop shortcut.
I have not found what is wrong. Any idea ? Has anybody the same issue ?

i'd appreciate a link if anyone has found a discussion on how opera is able to start up so frickin fast vs firefox.

it's a www.html5test.com running on MicroB, Opera and then Fennec(latest beta)

I must say Fennec Beta version 6 seems to be (I say it like that since I have thought the same a few times before) a lot better than it was.
Especially scrolling is better, it doesn't stall for half a second after you start swyping.
Still lots of checkerboarding, and probably still using a lot of memory, but it's getting there.

having repo issues... is fennec 4.0 the latest version? (as listed by dpkg -l)
