I only have Sociality from that list but it opens fine for me in Portrait.

p.s again found the reason of messed up lock screen .
the sliders having border will be messed up in portrait mode , so either choose a theme whose lock screen has no border around the slider or edit the images to remove the border and your portrait lock screen will look accurate again .

When Hildon-Desktop is in landscape mode all my shortcuts open fine.

But when I have HD in portrait mode some shortcuts do not open the app - initial screen comes up but it then goes back to desktop and app never actually opens. It seems related to Qt/QML apps at the moment (funny as those are the apps that DO support portrait mode themselves) while native N900 apps (like MicroB, dialler, email) open fine (after automatically reverting back to landscape when they open).

Some of the apps I've had a problem when opening in portrait mode:
- TwimGo
- Cute-Tube
- Kasvopus
- Sociality
- Khweeteur
- MIR Translator
- Instinctiv
- FastSMS

Looks like you haven't installed CSSU?

Aha - you are correct, I havent got CSSU installed. I was waiting a bit longer to do it, was just trying your HD changes as a one off - which are still fantastic BTW (thanks). So this issue is probably my own fault. :o

Just out of curiosity, what am I missing from CSSU updates that could cause this?

Cheers.

Re: Hildon Portrait issues thread

I think I have encountered the phone issue but it is not a major one. When ending a call, I take the phone from my ear and the screen is blank. The proximity sensor realises it is not next to my ear anymore and displays the screen - but the screen shown is the desktop and not the phone program. It takes another second or two to switch to the phone before I can press END, and sometimes it rotates as I go to press it so I end up having to press it again for it to register.

Annoying, but not the end of the world. Does this agree with other people's findings?

just hung up a call .
not the same issue i have faced .
it was a normal call .
but one thingy was different , as the last time i locked my screen it was portrait and as before seeing an incoming call the screen lits for a sec or so i noticed that it rotate to landscape mode first and then showed the incoming call.
like it took 3 seconds to show me an incoming call

but still as JohnLF mentioned , not the then end of the world ....

@ JohnLF are you running something on the background ?
which might cause the delay ?

isn't it possible to lock the orentation? through the actual lock button tbh? Since I use the double tap of power to unlock the phone, so the phone lock would switch between portrait or landscape.
