Re: smartsearch eating CPU on N9
So my fix was..
Terminal, then devel-su, then develsh, killall smartsearch. Top command to check usage and: It restarted itself but the cpu usage dropped (finally) from 90-100% to 6-20% |

I am having this problem, but only some days. I am using PR1.3 singapore.
Why is it intermittent? What can i do to limit it besides sifting though and deleting my texts? |
Re: smartsearch eating CPU on N9
best solution would be to rename project to stupidsearch :D
ahahahaha Code:
mv /usr/bin/smartsearch /usr/bin/stupidsearch |
Re: smartsearch eating CPU on N9
this is what i did. And i didnt see any problem on my device. Yet my battery last for 2 days..
devel-su (enable developer mode, install terminal and password for devel-su is rootme) on your N9 and chmod -x /usr/bin/smartsearch, reboot, then uninstall Battery-Icon and your battery will last longer. |

Re: smartsearch eating CPU on N9
I just tried disabling smartsearch with chmod -x because I noticed it was taking a lot of power. I had no problem finding files for email attachments, but the search in Maps no longer worked. This is odd because I'm sure the tracker db contains lots of geography.

Re: smartsearch eating CPU on N9
Got it fixed at last :)
~# chmod -x /usr/bin/smartsearch ~# killall smartsearch Uninstalled the Battery-Icon app (if installed) Removed all maps and deleted the cities map in /home/MyDocs Removed the .smartsearch map in /home/MyDocs Removed the /home/user/.cache/tracker directory (U need to root your phohe to do that, read http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=85238 OR http://everythingn9.com/the-inceptio...-the-nokia-n9/) ~# chmod +x /usr/bin/smartsearch And rebooted. The CPU will still be at 100% for a while, as it reindexes. But this worked for me. |
