yeah then someone builds a portal near by you while ur at work , and moves all his forces near by your base :p

No , no one dies here :p ur base just gets destroyed and part of your resources will be transfered to the one who attacked you . once you login repairs start and you're back into game withot the need to rebuild anything ... just wasted time in repairs

Loving it! website is a little too small for my n900 browser... still will be awesome!
Will have to have places where it is totally safe, like in elite where the further you got from civilisation the less police are about therefore more piracy... X2 The Threat used gates to jump from one solar system to another whereas Elite was hyperdrive from wherever you want. Would be awesome to start off with a spaceship where eventually you can by yourself a station or mine and then sell off the ore for whatever orice you want build defenses, hire protection etc... Sounds awfully complicated! Busy working on a space trader like dope wars in excel at the moment. Is hard enough to do! Am stuck on the economics, as need to make an incentive to travel to dangerous areas. |

here's my full idea of the game : You start by picking up a place on the map (x,y coordinates) or random place (x and y is if you want to play near by your friends and you know their coordinates) after you select your coordinates , you select the type of the planet you want to play on (4-5 types of planets , each planet have types of resources available more than on other planets) after selecting the planet type you are redirected to the command-center and given some cash to start your game . in the command center (cc) you can build : - cities (population to work in mines and other stuff) - different types of mines to gather resources - defense towers to defend your planet from possible attackers - factory to build ships - research faculty (to research new options and upgrade things) - communication center to become able to chat and make alliances and have a bigger map display - trade center (built only after communication center) to trade in the space-market - underground-factory which is used to build one of 4-5 motherships that can produce new types of ships/harvest resources on other empty planets , attack / defend . each mothership might have only 2 options when you build ships , you may explore more of the map / attack other players (which are near by your level only) / harvest resources from empty planets (there might be other harvesters with defender ships so be carefull , or a mothership harvesting so ur screwed !) exploring the map , you might create or join an alliance , members of an alliance can send each others ships for backup/escort , can harvest empty planets together , can form an army to engage an attack against a stronger player with sum of their level/power , can use each others created portals which can be created only by motherships or special ships . in the space there are small planets that cant be occupied by any player , but you can build an outpost on them to harvest more resources and build forces , but once the outpost is destroyed , the planet can be taken again by any other player . random small groups might attack you or your outposts so you have to build defenses , once your defenses defeat them you gain some extra parts/artifacts to upgrade/build new stuff that can't be built otherwise . some artifacts put you under protection for a period of time . protection is also active for 24 hours when you have your base damaged by more than 50% or your power level is less than ### some number . small chat rooms (by alliance / IM / by territory / market) the market has its own story , stocks goes up and down so you can sell/buy resources , you can also exchange resources with other players by posting what resource you want to exchange and for what amount of resources (ex: exchange 100000 uranium with cobalt [100 uranium for 300 cobalt]) . the more outposts you have the more resources you will get , so players and alliances will fight for taking over outposts , the more far the outpost the more resources it will cost to take over it , when you take an outpost 10% are given for the rest of the alliance , so players have to be wise in choosing what outposts to takeover or to leave to an ally to take . creating an alliance requires you some level/resources/power asking joining an alliance requires you to pay resources + some % being invited to join an alliance means you get some resources + some % of alliance resources both asking and being invited you only get into the alliance if 50% or more of the alliance members agreed ! within 24 hours . those who dont vote within the 24 hours aren't counted ! a game like this can be played 24/7 or an hour/day depending how YOU want to play !!! as long as no other game ideas have been posted , after 2 days i will start building this game but i need a graphic designer who can design space images/ships/buildings/planets in transparent PNG format . if you are reading this and you a designer please IM me . |

Sounds brilliant! A bit like Master of Orion or other 4x game but with more emphasis on economy and trade, I like the idea of an open market.
MOO, allows for different ship designs so the user can design there attack, bomber etc... perhaps this could be done by only certain planets? So you have to buy your ships again on the market.. MOO also has a tech tree so different players come up wth different tech although this would be a bit unfair joining the game later than another player but the tech tree could be controlled maybe by yourself? Different races in MOO have different perks, like the one species gets a planet assault bonus, another is better at production. Sorry am going off on a tangent but hopefully some extra ideas ;) |
