Re: The mighty n900 week 2014 (Day 0 of 7)
@Dave999...
without. I use my n900 (phone-wise) as my in-case-of-emergency / travel phone. Not as a casual-calling or business phone. landlines at home and shop do for those type of calls. So yeah...it's not like phone-wise it's really a sacrifice ...pinching me or anything. The HARD part for me will be setting the darn thing down for a week and not fiddling with it. I've always had the thing to hand when I'm not working. Figure I'll be suffering from n900 withdrawl big time. humhumhum...ach I'll just use my n8x0's more...that way I won't go into n900 withdrawl and get the maem-shakes :D Shouldn't be too bad...but I can't cold-turkey off of ALL my nxx0's....that's just painful masochistic madness....that'll kill me dead-bang ...Daveman |

Colophony, rosin... Thank you. If I see it anywhere, I will get a piece of it. However, running around in search of soldering-or-music shop it too time-consuming, considering that the place with two soldering irons should surely have it. I did not check it last time, because it was not exactly open the last few weeks, but this Friday it should have more people, with information about availability of soldering materials (hopefully). Best wishes. You are very helpful! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Per aspera ad astra... |

N900 in the hands of ageing generation of early and final (?) adopters keeps absorbing damage, but no stress or fear for shattering a 150 USD / Euro display glass :cool: Posted and uploaded image via N900's browser MicroB, moments after dropping the device from about 1m (see corner scratches). Dave, you can swirl to zoom your input text even while typing. Edit: all while listening streaming music and refrehsing app catalogues with the HAM. Edit 2: this thing IS definately a phone: I could call it during the heavy installation procedure of Flappy Bird 0.03. But the other side needs patience: it took about 5 ringing tones to efectively reach the N900 tell app. Attachment 35895 |
Re: The mighty n900 week 2014 (Day 1 of 7)
Wow, this topic is so cool!
Had to dig my N900 and power it on. It has been like 2 or 3 years since it was last powered on I think :D Want to feel like it is new so gonna Flash it if I still know how to. Wiki links seem to be all broken tho... Well, quess thats the way it is with N900 and N9, nothing out of box anymore. Have to dig those files. But it really does feel oddly nostalgic. Let's see I I manage to get this flashed and working by nightfall. Promise to try and use it for the whole week if battery is not dead after being unused so long. |
