Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

I understand that an anonymous coder is developing a new native Sailfish version of Whatsapp. Does anyone know if it's going to be named Mitakuuluu and when is it likely to be available?

this anonymous dev knows if the beta 1 will be released for the early users (like whatsup)?

Many thanks for the useful information Coderus. I've made a donation so that you can enjoy feeding the bears some more.

Current development is for SailfishOS, Beta1 release means finishing libwa and common api, and it will be possible to start porting it to other platforms using Qt.

Hey Coderus,

I waited for a long time for the new version of Mitakuuluu and finally installed Whatsup by Cepi! I registered without any issues and then uninstalled Mitakuuluu 2.0.

Whatsup works well, but still would want to see whats the new Mitakuuluu's got in store for us! I am not a developer, so in layman terms, what is the difference between the two?

Thank You!

(I have made a small contribution to you, will make some more soon!)

Good question, meet.vino! Whatsup is working well for me for the time being but I was and still am a Mitakuuluu fan so I do wanna switch to Mitakuuluu 3.0 by the end of April regardless of it being different from Whatsup or not. But still, it's a good question: what will be the difference? :)

Re: Some news about Mitakuuluu development

Sorry, i didn't used Whatsup so much and i can be wrong, but anyway.
Differences will be available in Beta1:
* end-to-end encryption for private chats
* full support of broadcast lists
* Sailfish native look & feel
* opensource
Will be available later:
* Web chat (scanning QR code by phone)
* Sailfish sharing menu integration

Awesome! BTW, coderus, will Mitakuuluu use the same database scheme or there will be some changes?
