Is there an off-line browser available? For a portable wifi device wouldn't this seem like a natural application to have?

You could use wget, then open the site locally. I also believe Plucker is available - both at maemo.org.

Is anyone interested in porting ThinkRock? This is a very interesting mind mapping program. See here: http://www.thinkingrock.com.au/

What I would like to see are GUI implementations of:

LISP
PROLOG
BASIC

Some of us aren't Python programmers.

Hi there,

I found a great app that allows you to download the complete HTML-pages of rss-feeds for offline browsing/reading.

It's called Feedelity and is available via

Tahitibob's Website

Just install the *.deb, add a feed, update, press "download" and got to "offline" in Feedelity. Now, when clicking "view" for a news item, the web-browser launches with Feedelity's cached version of the Website instead of the "live" URL.

Have fun!

I second the Newton's notepad. I still fire up the old newton in my closet just to play around with the notepad. As soon as a handheld duplicates that program I will buy it in an instant. I could scratch out words all day. (Those that have used it know what I mean.)

I have lots more, but those are the urgent ones. When can I expect the programs to be ready?

Karel, remember MoreInfo for the Newton? That would be killer on this device, and if the Newton could pull it off back in 1997, I see no reason why this would not be possible on the NiT :)

And yes, full screen handwriting recognition would be a blessing, cursive or otherwise. I was tinkering about with my iPaq 3970 a couple of days back and somehow found Transcriber's use of the full screen refreshing, compared to the limited area of the input panel on the NiT
