AGPS: is this application useful just on n810 and the internal gps or can be used on n800 with an external bluetooth gps?

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

Wow, this new GPS stuff rox. N800 + Nokia BT receiver fixes damn fast! It took me minutes now I get my position right after the BT connection works.

The Media Player on the other hand is disappointing :(. The old one used to play Xvid 640x368 on an enjoyable speed but now it is just comic book :(

It'll change N800 users life as well!

agps sure works for N800 as well (only tested with wifi so far) :D

but they really should have included the app in the image.

Anyone know if there's a way to disable the auto update notification? For my use, I'd rather messages NOT be popping up telling me I have updates. I'd rather go out and do an update check manually.

hey, texrat, if you're having problems with your N810W, I'll gladly take it off your hands, fix it, and return it in a couple of years.

Presumably by disabling the applet in the Control panel?

I checked the repositories and they had no distribution listed, I made it diablo and now I have to updates available:

Operating system and makedev (2.3.1-73osso-4)

Both say they are uninstallable because the other is missing, when I try to install them they say "go ahead anyway", I say yes but it fails.

As they are reliant on each other how can I fix this?

That's the wrong way. Nokia just released a fiasco image, so you can flash it.

A couple of quick questions for some with the AGPS app working correctly please.

I can move the red target thingy over the map of the world and it shows me the long/lat etc. but it never actually moves to my location (UK). Is it supposed to move about, or suddenly jump to my location or something?

About how long does it take to get a fix on my approx location over a WiFi connection (I've waited 5 mins and nothing happens).

Am I missing something obvious?

Cheers

I'm not a programmer and this might be the dumbest question but...is there a flasher wizard for Windows. I checked and saw only Linux, Ubuntu, and Mac. :(

http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/#initfs
http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/initfs_flasher.tgz

Maybe it was already mentioned (will read this thread later) but initfs is now bigger (4MB) so no need to remove extra stuff and more possibilities in future and also dual booting with previous firmware works.

This is just quick update, there is still no full support for framebuffer console. There are two new optional bootmenu.conf options MENU_X_FBMODE (auto, manual) and MENU_X_USBMODE (host, peripheral, otg) but so far they are not much useful. Both are meant primarily for emergency framebuffer recovery console (with usb keyboard in case of N800/770) but it is not finished yet.

What took you so long??!!

Erm.. this might be a silly and offtopic question but what is the default lock code for the device? Help says it's 12345 and as I remember it did work with os2008 but now it says incorrect code.

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

Hmm.. new splash screen for Wayfinder. How exciting!

So before I was using the old email client, plus Modest. I have three accounts I need to keep a check on, but I need to keep one seperate from the others. So I had two accounts being downloaded with the old email client, and one using modest.

Now there is only modest. I have all three accounts set up, though without the two combined, which is not a significant issue.

But modest only seems to poll the "default" account, rather than all three. Is that right?

Err, no. It does all email accounts, sucka.

It would have been nice to see some sort of fix for when you receive more than 7 emails, likely from different accounts, but the list just says "More Emails..." . Then you have to manually check each account.

And an "identities" option would be useful. I need to send from multiple email addresses, but the same account.

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

is there a way in modest to have all accounts go to a single inbox?
or a easy way to see all accounts listed on the sidebar? as is you have to manually look in each one it seems.

Did you edit your hosts file? It should have (or similar):
127.0.0.1 Nokia-N800-23-14 localhost

I don't know if that's what causes your problem, though.

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

i found the answer in a prior bug

here is a very simple way of restoring

Just edit the connection in Connection Manager and in the "advanced" section:
o tick the proxy-enable box
o delete the proxy IP
o set the port to 0
o untick the proxy-enable box

Re: Diablo Released - Say Goodbye to Firmware Flashing

I cannot install Rhapsody for the same reason as kudos1uk. I get an error:
Application packages missing:
flash-and-reboot (=3)
initfs-flasher (=0.9516-200823maemo2)
kernel-diablo-flasher (=2.6.21-200823maemo3)
osso-ic (>1.0.0)

I did the fix suggested by Matyas, using apt-get. Now the only package it says is missing is osso-ic (>1.0.0)

Is anyone else having trouble installing Rhapsody? Has anyone else succeeded installing it?

Diablo runs great, thanks so much! I never found the old Email client reliable enough to use, the new one is killer. Hooray for not having to reflash, unless I screw something up!

Is there support for ttls/pap (not peap or mschap) authentication in Diablo? Any changes to A2DP support with built in applications? That said, I like the idea of new flashless upgrade and support for existing 2008 apps.

it seems like I can not apt-get remove skype-installer, gizmo-installer, rhapsody-installer any longer - this is after installing easyroot - tried rootme in sudo, no dice.

still can delete *.desktop files in /usr/share/applications/hildon/ in the name of trying to conserve space.
