I had to restart my phone to get the update (I'm in Australia).

I'm downloading now, but it's very slow seeing as everyone must be updating at the same time :P

For the next update, I'm hoping for:

faster transitions when changing orientation

faster response time when turning the device to launch the phone application,

better WiFi power management, portrait keyboard for browsing (and hopefully texting),

better battery life

better contacts management
(I hate the way your MSN/Facebook Chat, etc accounts are all together with your phone contacts. I'm hoping for group integration so it only displays phone contacts in one tab, MSN in another, etc etc.
Also, when I add a 'Home' phone number (landline), it comes up with 'Home (SMS)', an SMS option for the landline number. I'd like to be able to delete that.)

Restarted phone, went to app manager, update, it's there. Installed flawlessly, phone seems snappier indeed. From Romania

I was trying to make space for the update. I uninstalled few apps and then tried to install the update. It said Not enough memory. That can't be right. Cause I just uninstalled almost 70+ mb worth of apps. So, I rebooted my device and now it never comes up.

Does anyone knows this problem.

Luckily, I have one app (forgot its name) installed which shows the boot logs and stuff when the device is booting.

It reaches this place and then suddenly switches off.

E: videoep: xcb connect failed
E: videoep: xcb connect failed

Before this was the camera daemon which went successful...

Any help on this...

all repositories are disable beside nokia system software updates and nokia application ...

:D OTA update to PR1.1.1 V3.2010.02-8 complete. Though my Maemo did crash after the laast reboot. O.K. now for trying it out. "The proof of the puding is in the eating!"

Was just thinking the same. Yesterday was a kick in the nuts from nokia to all n900 owners, today they are maybe trying to make up for it a little.

I just updated. Now my phone is in a constant reboot... OMG...
Shows the blank desktop for about 5 seconds, then reboots.......

I just did my update here at work OTA....didn't have any problem except for the "not enough memory"....disabling the extras in the repository fixed that.

Things I noticed so far: faster browsing - transitions from one web page to another is snappier. Wifi connection is stronger/faster....not getting dropped off anymore.

For the people with the Not enough memory in target location error, please read the N900 Updates FAQ Sticky, see Q: It says I don't have enough memory, what do I do? or do the updating via Nokia Software Update.

As for this update, can't see any noticeable changes other than its performance; it's quite snappier, actually. I dunno what they did (removed temp files/cache?), but still, thumbs up for that one. :)

FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS THE SPACE PROB...
#1 uninstall un needed space eating apps in the app manager...
#2 disable repositories...
#3 type df -h in xterm... check if rootfs has enough memory.
#4 restart phone...
worked for me...

Okay. This reflash killed my N900. I'm in a constant reboot loop after updating.

Updated fine here in UK via wifi and OTA, no changes but UI is faster so im happy.

Hmmm, given the size of the update those 32MB should be enough... What apps from extras-devel do you have installed, as some is eating a big piece of the rootfs - I have 55MB+ of the rootfs free (and that is after the update, I didn't check how it was before) and it went smoothly (apart from couple notices during the update about `operation failed`))...

Had also those "not enough memory" - errors, 40.2 megs free on rootfs wasn't enough, but 41.9 megs was.

Will wait with the update.. there seems to be alot of problems.
But when updating, -devel and -testing needs to be disabled right?
Also uninstall -devel apps?

My upgrade in Germany worked all fine.
