Oops... that's not cool.
But I did read somewhere about a fix for that, which arised when people had this problem with the leaked 1.2 firmware.

Nah, no offence meant.

Just keeping myself in the fence until at least Thusday. So I'm actually very grateful for the bug reports that's sure to roll over here. Helps me plan what to fix when I finally jump in later.

So as far as it goes, 1 bug as of now. Not bad actually.

Right - back after breakfast with the family (there are more important things in life...):

Flashed with RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin

All seems OK, but on restoring backup App Manager fails to recognise App Catalogues, so I can't restore apps OTA.

Any ideas?

Same happened for me...i had 53mb free and had to uninstalled stuff to get up to 57.7mb until it installed OTA

Hong Kong version is PR1.2 week 12, and this one is week 19. Glancing through the changelog (http://maemoarena.com/2010/05/nokia-...eleased-today/) I found there's some improvement over your version, like allow file sharing in file manager (no more Petrovich), video calls straight from contacts, MfE enhancement, search by typing in App launcher etc.

I think the Hong Kong device is abit different still and I will try to flash it just for the hell of it once it's officially released (in 24 hours or so). I read the changelog that there's video calling directly from CONTACTS and I don't see that feature in my device at all.

Thanks 9000 for clearing that out. I got mine at Wilson Communications and was wondering what you did to yours ever since your purchase (assuming you got from HK as well) What is the eMMC thing? man I feel dumb here compared to WinMo stuff ;)

I want to install the eMMC because I wanted to start from scratch...had issues previously, but it just freezes/does nothing when I try to flash.

Is anyone else having this issue?

the main firmware flashes fine just the eMMS does not work properly.

Everything working for me. I had about 20 apps installed plus the extra protocols for conversations and extra video codecs etc.

Tested everything and it all works.

Obviously my pimped graphics have disappeared but other than that all is well.

I also seem to have 92.8Mb of rootfs free despite me only having 64.5Mb free before the update. Also my swap usage has dropped dramatically.

So what about the rootfs issues? How much does it need? Is symlinking /var/cache/apt/archives and doing a dist-upgrade on the shell supported?

can somebody explain a new N900 user what files to download - the OS2009 or PR.1.2. files? what's the difference? my current version is the global version 8.xxxxx

I'm in the UK but have global firmware... Will I have to wait until tomorrow do you think? Or should I keep hitting update every 5 mins...?!

I got mind at citicall and the guys there are nice since I got my bricked N900 returned anew (they wouldn't be so nice if they knew the reason of bricking...well anyway).

I overclocked it....and that's pretty much the only interesting thing I've been doing since. The others are just as usual, like running apps and games and develop stuffs on it. XD

The eMMC is the internal flash mapped under your home (/home/user/MyDocs), and it's the visible drive (N900) when you use your phone as mass storage device via USB. The contacts and stuffs are saved in this flash drive. Therefore if you reflash the eMMC your phone will return to default.

I'd recommend you to reflash the eMMC as it's a new format. Upstairs there're people confirmed that the new week 19 rom runs fine without reflashing eMMC, anyway, your preference.

Of course, you must backup your eMMC before reflashing it, but I'm sure you wouldn't need to be told of this. ^^

It's wierd when I check updates in OTA it says there is one and I should use NSU, but then when I plug into NSU it says there is no update?

What is going on here?
