Sorry but I did read a lot on the wiki but did still not find the answer how to access the menu.

http://wiki.nitdroid.com/index.php?t...2Fprox_keymaps

Slider takes me back
Camera Button takes me home
Power well is power
Volume

So how do you guys access the menu when you are in an application on NITdroid?

No need of a PC actually to format your microSD card. You can do it on the N900 itself.

I tried to explain the same procedure in detail here (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=129). See, if you can follow them to success.

Hope it helps.

@anyone

How to access menu in app?

slider -> back
camera button press - home
camera button long press - Last used
Power button -> standby and power off

How do I get to the menu of the apps?

--------

Any more detail how to get flash running. Read a post before but did not find anything remotely so any help with step by step (in maemo or NitDroid) would be helpfull.

-------
Is there an official Outlook sync tool for android? I synced contacts using gmail account but this is

a) a hassle
b) I don't want my contact with google
c) I miss the avatars for my contacts

I think I found the way to access the menu.

cover the thing next to the front cam twice. Is that really the way?

Is there a way to change the buttons functions? Back is so often used that the slider is not very convenient.

I would like it like this

Camera - Half press -> back
Camera - Full press -> Home
Power -> lets leave it like this
Slieder -> Menu

Re: Nitdroid today, auto-installer and 1st impression

Zikmir, the same thing happened me, I just followed the instructions to manually format from the www.nitdroid.com wiki and then ran the installer again. It worked the second time around. I previously had the card formated in ext3 also but as a full partition.

The proximity sensor next to the front camera does this function. Just tap your finger next to the transparent part next to the front lens and it will do this

EDIT:
Formatted now with the commands from the manual installation guide and then run the installer... Now it worked perfectly :o I think something is wrong with the formatting script in the installer.

but even if i manually format the sd card...the installer still does the same thing again.
wen i posted the above query i had formatted my card manually only and thn ran the setup...it didnt work.
and now i just ran the autoinstaller with a fresh mem card, it still gets stuck on formatting ext3..

do u mean tht if u format the card manually, the autoinstaller doesnt format ???

I think that nitdroid installer is installed in N900 and not into flash card, so you can uninstall it manually via x terminal.
If you want to format your flash card - you can do this via your PC.

so is there an actual installer in extras devel that can be downloaded via app manager (as per the usual way of installing an app) or do you have to do it via xterm? If there is an actual installer that can be found with app manager, where is it??

also can somebody recomend a make/model 2gb sd card that definitely works with nitdroid?

Any Make/model atleast 1GB and class 6 or better. Mine is a 8GB Sandisk Class 6 and it works great. I got it offline last year for like $15, there is a link to one on NITDROID forums somewhere that is a 16GB Class 10 for like $44 not a bad price for that card. Not sure where they will mail it to.

I finally installed it but I'm getting an error while booting into NITDroid.
Error is :

Mounting route device mmcblk0t2 failed
Guru meditation #00000025.62017712

After this it restarts after some seconds.
Does anybody know what this means?

And yeah my overclock profiles have stopped working as well.

How long should it take to download nitdroid via the auto installer?

Mines been on the xterm for like an hour with downloading ... and its on my wireless thats on a 20mb connection. I know it says it may take a long time, just need to get a ballpark figure if its like hours etc?

You have the error that many had!
Check first post carefully and there you will find a workaround...

Ok - well, am I correct then its a manual install?

I have Kernel power installed hence was hoping the auto installer would work. Partitioning is fine after I did it manually.

Am I being thick or....

1) Does Android have problems with WPA2 wifi?
and
2) why does practically every process I start result in a "Sorry! The application ... has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"?
