You can use "apt-cache rdepends packagename" to see which packages depend on that one (note that they are not necessarily installed packages, but available packages).

I had a couple blockers including the one you mentioned. I think I had to remove healthcheck & PyQt to clear that one.

Should be OK to remove it, though it should also show up in the application manager under something...

Updated with Ovi Suite 2.2 in Windows 7 x64.

It restored everything to factory defaults except for my contacts and conversations.

My first impressions are that the web-browser works a bit smoother than before.
And the e-mail client loads my google mail inbox faster.
The media-player applet also works now, it was broken in Pr1.2.

However the patches to make kinetic scrolling smoother (more fps-wise) didn't make it I guess :(
Scrolling the contact or call-history lists is still choppy.
I guess that's what we can learn from the iPhone:P

MohammadAG created a custom .deb package to make the app-menu smoother, I hope he'll do the same for this update and include the contact and call-history menus too.

You just need to gain root and then

apt-get remove libqt4-test
It will aske you to remove Healthcheck which depends on this library as well. After that you are good to go. This way you can remove all conflicting packages - it was libgles1-sgx-img required by Brainparty in my case ;-)

anyone knows why i cant update over OTA???can find the update but when i actually do it it asks me to connect to my PC with a create backup option instead of a continue option given. i live in the UK btw and both OVI suite and Nokia updater say my device is up-to-date. my pc's running win 7 x64 so could be a pain in the *** to flash it at the moment. any ideas. appreciate the help

According to my memory info screen I have:
internal: 26.33 GB available
Memory Card: 1.59 GB available
Memory for installable applications: 1.77 GB available

So I dont understand about memeory not being avialable.

updated with titans kernel OTA - worked fine; also I'm not able to re-install titans kernel; but - my N900 is as fast as with titans kernel installed (running on 900) - nice...

Yeah I'm also blocked from upgrading (uk variant 203). Is there any way to switch to the mr0 global release without reflashing?

Very smooth compare to previous version.

Just in case it helps any newbs, here's what I needed to do based on the this post and on the prior page to lead me where I needed to go.

1. apt-cache rdepends libqt4-test returned python 2.5...so I removed a python2.5 something or other that was in my app list, it asked me to remove healthcheck as well so I did.

I rebooted.

2. Then apt-get remove libqt4-test and it allowed me to remove.

Now I'm updating OTA

I hit up both posters with Thanks but figured I'd spell out the two steps as the apt-get remove for this wasn't allowing me to remove until I took care of step 1.

folks, sorry for the noob question, but what exactly (pictures, songs, bookmarks, apps, homescreen customization etc.) gets lost if i update to version 1.3?

Will Ovi Suite and NSU reflash my device?
I dont want to, i have modded it so much and dont want to spill it all down the drain.
And worst is that App Manager is against me, it insists on using PC Suite...
All i am troubling with is that all the versions are... wrong...
Will see if disabling some repos will do the trick. :|

If you use OTA update, nothing will be deleted.

If you reflash your phone by maemo flasher or OVI/NSU, then:

Content that is not in home folder is lost. that would mean all applications binaries and application data files get lost(/opt/). All customizations to desktop will get deleted, custom themes and fonts, menu configuration and network settings will get cleared. However if application writes configuration in home folder, it stays there.
Pictures, Videos, Contacts, SMS are stored in home folder.

ha ha..i love it when people get disappointed by no portrait support every time we get a firmware update..am still looking for the guy who promised it to the poor folks!! :)

Yes you have to! Or you got bootloop.. then you can load that power-kernel back.
