Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
Thanks for reporting. I am aware of the startup crash issue. However, on my device I can not reproduce the issue with the latest SailfishOS Uitukka update, neither in current release build 1008 not in the latest beta. I would love to get feedback of beta testers that see 1008 crashing and the current beta version working on their devices.

crashing here everytime since latest opt-in update :(
Already try to uninstall then install again, no change, still crashing at startup :( See attached file |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
upgrade to pro version and it won't crash anymore ;)

Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
@coderus I wish it was that easy! :)
After some very detailed analysis of the start-up process I identified and fixed another issue that might cause the crash. The beta build 1071 contains this fix. To those that have beta access (Victorious et al.), please test it and let me know if this fixes it. Thanks! |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
what the relation between last update and pro version ?
irony ? |

Now I'm gonna pay attention to features available in pro-version once startup crash fix will be released ! :p |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
I need your help! I have received contradictory reports from beta testers that have tested the fix for the startup crash on SailfishOS Uitukka.
I need more feedback, so here is a public download link for the beta: https://www.meteorasoftworks.com/dow...-1.armv7hl.rpm This version writes debug output to /home/nemo/Documents/quasarmx-output.txt If the app crashes during startup or shortly after, please email this file to me: support@meteorasoftworks.com Please make sure to uninstall the old version and delete the following directories prior to testing: /home/nemo/.config/harbour-quasarmx-lite /home/nemo/.cache/harbour-quasarmx-lite Thank you very much! |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
thanks !
reproduced here atm, txt log file just sent ;) |

Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
The updated version 1.9 is now available in the Jolla store and on my website:
https://www.meteorasoftworks.com/quasarmx/ The changelog is here: https://www.meteorasoftworks.com/quasarmx/changelog/ Thanks to all the bug reports I was able to fix the start-up crash on Jolla, which turned out to be a bug in the Qt 5.2.2 libraries used in SailfishOS Uitukka, triggered by long button captions that caused ellipsis of text that in turn caused a stack overflow. Tough one. |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
Thank you for new SailfishOS file browser :)
And also please report Qt bug back to Jolla |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
Is it possible to configure the N9 low power screen to show whats currently playing on QuasarMX?
|
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!

thank you very much for help guys, coderus doubly so. All works fine :) |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
Some music files I recently added on my N9 takes very long time to load - may take 5-10 seconds - shouldn't be anything out of the ordinary, the files are 320kbit/s MP3, with 2 channels, at 44.1khz. FLAC files play just fine. What could be the cause? FasterN9 Maybe?

I have some issues with the cover art on Jolla.
I've tagged the mp3 files and included cover art inside the mp3 file. There is separate cover art for each track. When I look at the playlist, it shows same cover art for each track from same album. It appears to be quite random on what track's cover art is used. Questions: 1) Could it be possible to set option to show individual cover art instead of same cover art for each track in same album? 2) If not, how is the cover art selected by the app? I could create a dummy track just to get suitable cover art. I have my collection on podcast episodes, in below example I have Armin van Buuren's - A State of Trance. The album name is "A State of Trance 2014" for the episodes in 2014 and "A State of Trance 2015" for episodes on 2015. Similary I have Pete Tong's Essential Selection episodes in albums Essential Selection 2014 and Essential Selection 2015. Each track has their own cover art, but it's only displayed correctly on the track view. Ie. on left all 2014 tracks have cover art of "Top 20", even though you can see for example episode 692 having totally different cover art. |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
I am using QuasarMX full on Jolla phone (version 2.0.1267 on latest SFOS)
my db seems corrupted because I cannot play a file anymore: there is a locked symbol attached to all songs. I have uninstall the app but seems that something is not removed because when I re-install the app, the db is still here and all my songs are locked again. I have tried to look for something in /usr/share/ but I do not find that f---- database :p Anybody knows where to look and reset that db?? I have used that great sw for years and I am sad to be blocked now :( |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
On SailfishOS it is located here:
/home/nemo/.config/harbour-quasarmx-full/quasarmx.sqlite Just delete it and a new database will be created at the next start of QuasarMX. The exclamation marks in front of the items are caused by QuasarMX not finding the required files. This happens on SailfishOS when the ID used for the SDcard mountpoint changes. Can you still re-scan your collection? |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
That was fast and it even worked ;)
thanks a lot For some background info, my music is only on SD but I did not change it or even re-mount it. The scan was not working until the reset. And it actually happened after I created a playlist; the playlist played ok; then when I came back to the main 'Playlist on-the-go', it apparently broke something. That is unfortunately not very informative... |
Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
Never had the SQLite database corrupted on Linux, but happened two or three times on the Windows build. Anyway, a new version is around the corner and includes an updated SQLite version, so perhaps this fixes issues. Historically SQLite had several bugs that caused database corruption.

Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!
My player of choice for sailfish. The one from Jolla is... well, it would be better if they paid them 5€ for each phone and used time spent on that POS on something else.

EvilJazz
On the recent 2.1.1 something apparently changed for Jolla C (because it is the only device which is using Bluez 5 for now) regarding bluetooth controls. When I use my bluetooth headset, play/stop music buttons stopped working with QuasarMX. Another developer is investigating it for his music player but you may like to have a look also: https://together.jolla.com/question/...isv2-controls/ (second answer by r0kk3rz) |
