No never, and there will be no port to n900 either... there wont even be sailfish on the new jolla phone... it is all scam!

(for those not following it... for those who do, you might already know what was said +10 times that there will be a community update for N9 AFTER the initial release by jolla)

So the company that was formed by former nokia employees (engineers, h/s developers from the Meego department) is called what...? You follow close to every thread that is worth trolling and knowingly troll it... keep it up... I will be watching for another while. A and well, next time you report me to...wait... me! Think about it again and then... think again!

...why should i? Just for showing support to a company that (until this week?) couldn't even create a proper website?

Let's see how Jolla's infrastructure and application availability will have played out the 12 months _after_ they have delivered.
I'm not fanatical like some 'FOSS-only' guys around here, and i will especially _not_ freely churn out bucks for something that even the specs are not given!

If Jolla can prove us they can execute properly, they are on my short-/comparison list for future devices that i will acquire. Just being a bunch of ex-Nokians (that like to hang out mostly on IRC, Twitter & F*ckbook -> ...) using Mer that happended to also being involved in Harmattan and maybe Maemo is not providing enough ground for trust in them alone, will have to watch them for quite a while.

But: as it stands for 'being able to execute properly'; their entire way of communications can be purely labeled as 'fail', up to this point.

For now, thank you very much, but i've recently invested in devices that 'work' - they are running ('copy-cat') Android. I don't care for that circumstance, by the way. And i don't need more gadgets, i'm not some collector or one of those people that need to check out & get the latest... until their desk is full with devices.

Sorry for sounding almost like Lubeman, but i'm old & experienced enough now for not blindly following/buying into hype, whatever foundation it's coming from. And i've developed a special dislike for hackjobs over last year's course or so. And wanting something proven is not like "Europeans blindly following mainstream hypes", as some certain dorky basement-dwelling Swedes here like to spit out every so often. Who is following a hype here, if i may ask? Better think (and think deeply, when you should do) about it. Almost the same things happened here shortly before the N9 came out, which turned out to be a bit of a turd in certain areas; expectations, hardware reliability, or compared to its predecessors.

Now i just read that we have a F*ckbook so-called "Maemo" fanpage that prominently features.... the Jolla device. Excuse, me - huh? Did TMO somehow get (previously asked for) sponsoring or something else from them? The dimensions of this hype and sorry to say, but cult of followers are increasing...

...hats off to Mr. gerbick & Mr. danramos btw ;)

PS.: having a heavy flood here since last weekend to take care of, so what's happening in Finland is currently of even less interest.

I think I'll go rant on an android forum how their multitasking sucks. There must be some kind of reward doing that, certainly...

Don't get me wrong, I *know* some aspects of maemo suck, no need to remind me of that in every thread, but it WORKSFORME and I'm here because, you know what? it works for me better than my Galaxy Note. I hope, (and have clear indications that) the Jolla phone will work for me too.

In my country Jolla has not got ANY attention so far in media even if Finland is out neighbours :(

All attention instead goes to Nokia new Lumia :(

Well even their twitter account has 23k followers, so I would assume quite a large percentage of them would pre-order.
And the sales haven't started in China yet, that would probably be most of their actual sales... So no real reason to be pessimistic (at least yet).

I'm the only one in Lebanon who pre-ordered. What do you think is the answer? Plus, I contacted Jolla, they said that it depends on the demand coming from the country which decides whether it'll be available or not. They don't have a final answer till now, and seeing that I'm the only one who pre-ordered, I guess it's a NO! :mad:

Well, it's an approximate answer, since no Lebanese other than me here has pre-ordered, and NO ONE has ever heard of Jolla among all the people I know, and when you talk to someone on Facebook and mention it, they say "Uhm, what's that?" You tell them "It's a new phone launched which will make a fortune for its company", they tell you "Oh, no man I don't give a f*ck about it I would rather buy an S3 because everybody else has it." AND I SWEAR THAT'S HOW LEBANESE THINK.

If Jolla phone comes to USA, is usable on a carrier that is not horrible, has hardware keyboard, standard linux software stack, fairly modern hardware specs, hackability... I will definitely consider it. But I am not convinced until I see some actual details emerging.

I support them in spirit but not yet ready to support them financially. :D

It's alright that you want transparency, but there's a difference between posting an e-mail address as an image and posting it in the format you just did. If you want to post it for someone to contact you, you should do it in a way similar to this:
username AT provider DOT com

At least if you don't wanna get flooded by spambots...

This is just a friendly advice, don't take it bad.

EDIT: Post edited, e-mail removed. Just an explanation for qwazix: of course you can make regexp for anything, but that's why I said "a way similar to this". Call it 'security by obscurity', if you will, but there are endless possibilities how to make the address human readable, so it is not efficient to explicitly target all of them.

Well, Similar to AMD, I'm from Iran, Where no Jolla smartphones would be available even in the 1H of 2014. But unlike Lebanon, People in some Iranian gadget forums know Jolla, But did they pre-order ?
I own the god sent N9, but I want to give it to my father and buy a new phone. Sorry me, but I hate Android and all it's OEMs. Not to mention Apple.
If I want to buy the upcoming EOS then I have to tolerate WP8's unbelievable basic feature scarcity .
I really don't know what to do. Should I wait for the not-surely coming Jolla which have no warranty and many other things, Or I buy the gorgeous Aluminum EOS with it's great camera?
