Click the phone icon and then exit by clicking the X on the upper right corner, you will see the desktop icons are all placed in the portrait mode.
Is this a sign of PR1.2 coming in the next few days??

No need to speculate. I do have a great set of features and an even bigger set of bugs. But you all will have to wait my debut to know them.

I'd be really pissed if pr 1.2 is buggy because nokia is taking its sweet-*** time with it.

Then again, they say for every fix, two new bugs come out instead.

still waittinnggg. I know I should be patient but my n900 really is buggy and its starting to annoy me. A lot of the bug fixes in PR1.2 are my answer but wwaiittinnggg………

If only we didn't know that PR1.2 is in fact coming, then we wouldn't be behaving like impatient brats.

At least we're lucky we don't have a Samsung Galaxy i7500. It's still awaiting an Android 1.6 based firmware. It will never get an official 2.0 (or higher) based firmware. Updates are left to the community, but without open drivers it's "up hill" all the way.

Dear Nokia

I'm very very very tired of waiting for this update, that we don't know if it's the cure our device need, and it need much "sw-medicine"!

When we bought this phone back in December we knew that it was in some kind of beta state.

Lifespan of a product like this, must be more than 4 months!

But it's ridiculous that the sw isn't fixed yet, I mean, you should't miss half of your calls and need to reboot it daily.

Where are spokesmen from Nokia? (information about our device future please and not only about Meego and Symbian^3)

I've tried to live my tech live trough Linux for more than 10 years and that's one of the reasons Nokia fooled me to buy this beta thing!

The hw is ok, maybe we should try to sponsor those porting attemps of Android (even if I hate Java) and leave Nokia in/with their messed sandbox....

Nokia, you have to deliver now and it should work this time. You owe us that!!

Or could I have all my money back?

And please don't respond to this in some one-way Nokia fan boy way, I like this device (if it worked)!

Somebody should write a review from PR1.2 and Nokia will release it 1 day after, a'la N8 :) I think btw that it must be tomorrow, as it will launch in Hong Kong, if Nokia doesn't release it, we'll ask somebody to save the image from a retail handset and upload it somewhere, it will be PR1.2 without FM transmitter though :)

I honestly can't see the 1.2 update fixing that much to be honest, but suppose at least it might kick some life in to the apps being developed for it.

I dont find mine crashes, haven't rebooted for like 2/3 weeks, its overclocked so runs pretty decent, haven't missed any calls.

Although I do notice some bugs and yes they are frustrating, whether 1.2 will cure them though? i don't know, It'll just be nice to have something new to play around with, as soon as we get bored the 1.3 thread will appear!

there are pro's and con's to this device.. Personally its taken me about a month to tweak things to a state which I'm happy with.. and there are still issues:

font size's are too small,
firewall with a simple desktop UI,
MMS,
Video calls for integrated Skype (Google chat has video capability, why not Skype too..?)

every one has there own list and are just getting excited with the anticipation of an imminent update. I personally wish Nokia would put people out of their misery and just release a beta version of the patch for the brave.

as i know it would be released after Chinese release. on weeks 18-19(3-10,11-18). got it from some Russian site that claims he got this from Nokia. there would be difference between two of them.
