I heard that V12 is working pretty smooth so far, which major issues are actually left now (Except voice calls)?

Would be nice to see some experience posts from some of the users here :)

i've installed my NIT on k0p5, and MMC is k1p1 (16gb)
but NIT doesnt see my card...any ideas?

Hi..This is my first post in this forum any hw i was always following the forum..
I have Installed the android successfully and are working fine to an extent..
I found a major problem in my phone it just hangs and re-boots by it self is anyone facing this problem or it is only in my phone.. plz tell r i would re-install if there is any fault in my phone..

Anyone got N12 to work properly with the newer nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-07_rc3_armel.deb kernel

Im still using the old one..did try the new one but that would not let me boot into NITDroid or Maemo so had to do a full reflash...

Hi all,
I had N11 installed on eMMC and followed the instruction on wiki to upgrade from N11.
Now boot menu shows 3 choices : Maemo, N06 and N07 but it doesn't boot if select N07.
What's gone wrong?

Hi there,

I've got another question about Nitdroid...

I've got all my music in /home/user/My Docs/.sounds (maemo standard); same with pictures (just in /.images). When bootet into Nitdroid I can't use any of my media (as those are hidden folders). How can I make those accessable under Nitdroid?

It seems that we maybe have (partially) call support soon. As you can see yourselves in git and in his twitter account e-yes is working on it:) I don't care about calls but I see that there is much interest for this so I m mentioning it here.

Android does not recognize hidden linux folders, i mean .sounds or .videos
If you want to have your pictures or your sounds in android, just rename the folders without the "dots" or just copy them to an other folder.

When calls will be available I will abandon Maemo for NitDroid (only for a testing time) It's crazy how this system is as smooth as maemo, as if it was done for the N900!! :cool:

Argh... silly me... *face - palm*. I've been thinking to complicated in terms of symlinks and that stuff. Moving everything to a new, unhidden folder hasn't occurred to me. Thinking to complicated *lol*

can i change the emmc later on?

storage usage shows me 0b free on rootfs?! amd home having only 1.1gb free. i guess thats not enough, is it?

I have been following this thread for a long time, but this is my first post here...It is great, the amount of time and effort put into this port..I am using NITdroid regularly and am loving it..Just wanted to say great work guys and thanks for the commendable job for making our favourite devices that much more lovable..Thanks everyone who has contributed...

ok, just installed N12, works just fine.

but: my battery-indicator doesnt seem to work. at first it was at 100%.
i plugged in the charger when it dropped to 35%.
after some time charging, i took the cable off. however, the battery-status is now at 30%. it didnt charge (or its not displaying the charge)

known bug? how to fix?

/edit: after booting maemo again, i realized they the device wasnt really charging in android, although the android-menu did say it does.

hope it gets fixed soon.

Try this out open clock and put into power saving mode tht is by pressing the brightness button it is in right side top(only when u open clock) nw put into charge it should show the plug symbol nd %of battery..
Even i had the same problem but this worked out for m just give a try it should work..:)

Ah

i have 4gb partition for android
but when i try to install high-weight apps, it says that not enough memory..
how can i encrease partition? can i use my SD card for installing apps?

Just let the screen to stay awake while charging from the settings, this will work.

installed today on an unformatted 2gb card using the auto installer inc update as advised thru terminal.

using a known good charge battery(i have 4) it boots up but then flashes the led red and comes up with android power off button before switching itself off..battery shows empty in the top right.
version shows 2.6.28 NIT 06.
any ideas whats wrong? i previously installed nitdroid a few months ago without issue but flashed since then.

Could anybody get the latest kernel versions to work with eMMC?
latest version at the moment is:
nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-07_rc4_armel.deb

I always end up with Kernel Panic and cant boot up any OS...
(So I end up with Flashing my device)

Anyone else experiencing this problem like I have?

It does work with the older kernel nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-06_final1_armel.deb version though

Hi,

Installed N12 without bigger problems, after short while, I launched the market app and well... It doesn't work. I can see all the apps, but after clicking install, all of them are stuck on "Starting download".
Connection works fine, and I can install apk files downloaded from internet (although in Flash installation it failed, saying it has too little memory, despite having around 180 MB free).

I've got 100% reliable charging finally..... Here's a posting I did to the local lug

One of the biggest problems with Nitdroid (I'm currently running N12 Umay) is that when the screen turns off charging stops, so if you leave the phone running Android plugged in overnight, you'll typically wake up to a dead or close to dead battery.

However looks like I found a solution, by setting the screen off from the default of 1 minute to 10 minutes, it appears to be charging properly. It continues to charge even if you press the power button.

Still doesn't resolve the other issue of Android not recognizing a full battery when the current one is almost dead. If you power off the phone, put in a fully charged battery and boot into Android, it will say the battery is almost dead and automattically power off. If you then boot into Maemo, it shows a full battery and works fine.

Workaround is to, while in Maemo, plug in charger and reboot phone into Android, it'll start charging and then seems to reset the battery level in Android and then you are okay. Still testing this a bit though as there are some edge cases that I still have to suss out.

This was extensively discussed before and you're right. The fix is already in the WIKI, either you can do what you posted or simply choose to let the screen stay awake while charging.

Thanks, I did a search for this and didn't find anything other than people complaining about non-charging.

As to the wiki, are you referring to the Nitdroid one or the Maemo one.

last time I looked at the nitroid one, there was nothing in the wiki about it and it referenced a much older version (0.8 iirc).

N12 is very responsive compared to older versions and pretty much everything (other than calls) seems to be working really well

I get reboots very often. Instales it with a clean install on the emmc. What to do?
