Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread
ok much as i hate posting mostly pointless updates..
phone/data/3g support is being examined, e-yes has partially ported over ofono and its apis and is working to try and get it working but its slow work and not at all useable yet(ie it crashes more than it works etc). i have been loking at using maemos internal PnatD app that is used for things like bluetooth dun to try and do data only support but again no success as yet their. also ive been working on getting wifi to calibrate properly and get rid of the annoying random mac address issue we have currently and it should stablise/possibly speed up the wifi also. thats id say about 80-90% completed im just trying to sort few bugs their will also be a new multiboot and rootfs release once one of the above items is sorted (probably be the wifi one at this time) i will not give an ETA as i always disagree with trying to offer timescales that may not be kept due to the nature of the work, espically on the phone module since we are in totalyl unprecedented ground here by being the only alternate os not being developed by users close to nokia to get any form of phone support going cheers. and just as a bit of good news to users we have had enough users test out the overclock now i think to release the instructions to public to try. details below: the standard disclaimers apply to this, i dont take responsiblity for any damage you do to your n900 by trying this mount nitdroid in maemo all this in root xterm Code:
mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and Code:
cd /and/system/etc remove the entire #power management section Code:
cd /and Code:
# Power Management |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread
Thanks for that update.
If I only want to overclock Nitdroid to 850 Mhz is it enough to change scaling_max_freq 1000000 to scaling_max_freq 850000 or do I have change something else (like avoid_frequencies)? |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread
read through power.conf it is pretty well commented what is needed :)

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread
Yeah, I have done that already.
I am only a little bit confused about the avoid_frequencies because scaling_max_freq is set to 1000000 (1Ghz) but at the same time avoid_frequencies contains 1000000 so i am not sure what that means (go up to 1Ghz but avoid exactly 1Ghz?). I am also not completely sure what sampling_rate does. It has the same value as scaling_max_freq but I think it makes no sense to have two variables with the same effect and so I don't if it is enough to change scaling_max_freq to 850000 or if I have to change sampling_rate to 850000 as well. Thanks in advance |

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread
lockswitch wasnt exiting browser, or going back
and cam key brought up a small box with icons in it, but there was no home screen option in there so i had to turn the phone off, maybe it was just a dodgy boot up if its only happened to me:confused: |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread
leetut, you could of taped any of the boxes to go to home, it shows up list of homescreens

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 & Multiboot Development And Announcement Thread
i pressed lockswitch over and over again for a few minutes and it was doing nothing, it worked everywhere else but stopped working when using the browser, just sharing the info bout it, but ive only booted nitdroid a few times and it was the first time id tried the browser, so if you guys say it should work then it'll probs not be an issue
also i couldnt set up bluetooth, the info in the wiki says to get BTmac addr and enter it to the third line of a file, i used leafpad to open the file 'via xterm' but it was a blank file, there was no third line to edit? defo copied the commands correctly |
