my first tests with gamepads usb


i tried 4 josticks

ngs maverick jostick double play/pc
genius axis 8 button generic jostick
play station 3 original
play station 3 copy

all jostick detects ok . with name and company . all ok

but only genius could play and only play with mame . others emulators n64.dksnes.nes.mastergear.ganeboy advance, psx,. etc not recognize gamepad .

Second test with it

1. download and install libx11-dev_1.1.99.6+0m5_armel.deb by xterminal

sudo gainroot
apt-get install libx11-dev_1.1.99.6+0m5_armel.deb

have 2 files

1 file xjoypad

sudo gainroot
cd /usr/bin
mv /home/user/MyDocs/xjoypad /usr/bin
chmod +x xjoypad


2 file have

xjoypad.desktop in hildon, and xjoypad.png in pixmaps

sudo gainroot
mv /home/user/MyDocs/xjoypad.desktop /usr/share/applications/hildon
mv /home/user/MyDocs/xjoypad.PNG /opt/usr/share/pixmaps


i had problems with apt-get install libx11-dev_1.1.99.6+0m5_armel.deb

i think that ,it is thing my n900 mobile.

i put all files and permissions ,

first execute hen
second speed mode select vboost and enumerate gamepad

now say :

usb hid core driver 2.6 and gamepad name and company

third execute xjoypad desktop icon and running any seconds and close. ??

and gamepads recognize but are not running



in continue.... if other man and interest in usb gamepads, try it please and tell your history for all people can know it.

edit: tomorrow i will flash n900 and i will try it again

and i will tell if .it can play with all gamepads or not

don´t run in pr 1.3 ,and broke fast aplication manager

identical results , ddkxjoypad start and close , i don´t know , why are happening it,

i think that library libx11-dev_1.1.99.6+0m5_armel.deb are neccesary but only can install in pr 1.2 because in pr 1.3

hi samipower, can you please open up Xterminal and type xjoypad. There will be a diagnostic text that helps me to know what happen in your N900.

any times hen log say all informatiob hid core 2.6 and other times only say short information you can see in captures

first hen and conect gamepad enumerate and
this is error in xterminal when i write xjoypad

i tried

sudo gainroot ok
modprobe joydev ok
cat /dev/input/js0 not found file or directory

i saw dev/input/ in n900 and js0 file not exists


edit: i tried with ps3 gamepad copy usb and ps3 gamepad original bluetooth sixaxis and here hen log and xterminal xjoypad capture

i can see that xjoypad work but with ps3 bluetoth gamepad but never with usb gamepad

why?

or in mame plugins pads?? because usb genius gamepad only gamepad that played emulators well only mame .

i think that emulators are not supporting usb gamepad. or driver for usb gamepad hardly compatible

I tried the host mode but the hostmode gui fails to mount the device (if I mount it by hand
mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /media/flash
all is good, but neither the mount nor the unmount button work on the hostmode-gui app.

the kernel messages show nothing about mounting procedures.
I suspect it is because when I run the app from the menu it does not have priviliges to mount it.

n900 cpu 950mhz with full battery have 2 hours and little of life playing mame emulator two human players

with ps3 gamepad bluetoth and usb genius gamepad
you can pass full cadilacs/dinosaurs and punisher games.
