Yeah i just tried the same thing in the UK. and was told i couldnt upgrade shipping :-( very odd

And contrary to comment a few posts above, i didnt get the impression they would arrive on the 23rd, but that they would be sent out on the 23rd. And that if mine was one of them sent out, i would get an email and could then phone them to get a tracking number as that would NOT be in the email

Its a pain that i cant check my email at work :-(

The N900 is already it the stores. The problem is that UK mail and transports suck really bad.

It's not on sale in the UK shops as far as I'm aware.. The only store that sold it was the FS store in NYC..

But the chances of them both charging and shipping the same day is so small. Not to mention with the way orders on my credit card goes the bank has to approve them anyway (e.g. they call me and ask me if I ordered this to make sure my card wasn't stolen).

GOOD NEWS GUYS

Just called nokia direct and they confirmed me that our nokias n900 will be shiped from monday so all of u who ordered it like me from them by special delivery will get it latest by wednesday!!!!!
Im so happy now, finaly we got some solid days...

To everyone that preordered from Amazon:

You don't need to cancel and place a new order to get the lower price. Just email them quoting your order number abd ask whether you'll pay the original price or the new price. They'll adjust the price that shows on your order to the new one and you won't loose your place in line. I have done this twice now, and there's no problem.

Btw if u cancel yr orders from nokia retail or MPD now and call directly nokia on 08003316021 and order by special delivery u get one by friday

But I think the concern is that you may not be eligible for the rebate (depending on if Amazon uses the date you pre-ordered or the date they charged you) on their invoice. Not sure if that issue was ever resolved. If they use the pre-order date then you would not be eligible for the rebate since the fineprint of the Nokia rebate seems to specify an invoice. Though oddly it's not listed as part of the required materials.

Nokia Germany (shop.nokia.de) changed my order from "Vorbestellung" (pre-order) to "Bestellung wurde noch nicht ausgeliefert." (not yet delivered).
But no email...

i thought they there delivered from one warehouse (netherlands)
i asked nokia.de support for that but they didn't know anything.

Soooo agree with you draco.bdn on that one. They have quoted 25.11 and they are going to stick with it even if the phones are there sitting and collecting dust! If France, The Netherlands and Poland are getting shipping orders, sure as hell know we would also!

Ok, I emailed Amazon.

Good news, they adjusted my price to the new $529.99

Bad news:
"Regarding the rebate, your order will not be qualified for the rebate, your order must be placed in between November 16, 2009 - December 31, 2009 to eligible for rebate. If you want to take the advantage of the rebate, you may cancel this order and place an new order."

Is it worth $50 for me to get out and back in line? Hmmmm....

Depends on how long the line is.. I don't know myself so I just kept my pre-order at Newegg and placed an additional one at Amazon (and plan on canceling the one that would arrive second).

Okay i just called chicago nokia flagship store and talk to Marge and ask about the status on the n900, she said any day now... She offered to put me on the list which i'm already on and said there's alot of people on the list and i ask her how many but she didn't really give me a responds. Come on NY already has some available how long can it take to chicago to get a piece of the pie?

Overall she was very nice... I wish i get that call today lol

Funny tho i thought when shipment comes in from asia i figured it'll ship from the west coast to east coast... I may also be completely wrong since i don't know anything about shipping. But then again alot of other countries closer to Korean hasn't received it also.

It's almost here...

Well, $50.00 is $50.00, so I did it. Probably wont see the device for some time now (sigh), but I waited this long so what's another month or so. And even went with the free "super saver" shipping. Deep down I am optimistically thinking that Amazon will get enough inventory for initial demand and I'll squeak in some how.

I did the same tournstone, figure at the price Amazon has it with the rebate, it's worth an extra month if need be. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised next week though, I've got a feeling* they'll have enough to satisfy demand.

*Just a gut feeling...could be hunger pains though. :P

Ditto for me. I didn't reorder because I have some travel plans and would like to have the n900 as soon as possible. If it looks like that's not going to work out, because Amazon doesn't start shipping soon, I can always cancel and re-order later. Of course, that's assuming Amazon doesn't once again hike the price between now and then.

Very true onestop, I was/am quite concerned about another price hike and I know with the order in, they will lower it if they lower the price, but not raise it with an increase. I seriously doubt any new rebate(s) will be introduced and we have 'till the end of Dec. to place an order to take advantage of this one.

nytcrawlr, I like your gut feeling there! Here's hoping you are correct!
