Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Thanks everyone for this!
A few questions:

1. Is it possible to do the partition part on the N900 as well?
2. Will there be an AutoInstaller.sh soon?
3. Currently I only have Ad-Hoc WiFi available here. Does that mean that I cannot connect to it with this build?
4. What is the progress for 3D accelaretion (because Froyo uses it so much)?

Thanks!

I think the last line in step 3 should read:

bunzip2 -c /home/user/MyDocs/NITDroid-N900-0.0.5-3-BIG.tbz2 | tar xvf -

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

dj_steve, why do we extract our mac address, do we have to put it somewhere to get bluetooth to work, like before?

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Oh, and step 4 should have a space after unmount:

umount /and

I have it installed, and am booting it up now!

sure. some people have problems with a >2gb ext3 partition, so i suggest a 1.9gb max ext3 partition.

No flashing required?!

AWESOME!

EDIT: Btw, mirror is up to date!

dj_steve 2010-07-09 20:19

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

flashing is required but not by user :)

good good about mirror, my server has been pushing near constant 3mb/s since that post LOL. 4 mirrors are active for rootfs folks so if you exp slow speeds try a diff one

Nice job :)
Is the kernel loaded with flasher on the fly (gets erased after reboot)? I think flasher has that option, at least on the linux version :p

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

what the difference between no.3 and n0.4 in the boot menu?

btw my
no.0 is my meamo setting(mine being titans kernel)
no.1 is maemo with no extra kernels
no.2 is maemo with power kernel
no.3 is nitroid but with a 02 at the end
no.4 is nitroid but with a 03 at the end

all very cool...

dj_steve 2010-07-09 20:31

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

yes 02 wont work currently for wifi (diff module required ) but 03 is the newest kernel anyway 02 is legacy

For some reason I get kernel panics on both NITDroid kernels.
I'm pretty sure I followed the steps correctly :p

EDIT: It seems it tries to mount mmcblk0p2 on /mnt... Souldn't it be mmcblk1p2?

dj_steve 2010-07-09 20:58

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

"bzcat" is equivalent to "bunzip2 -c" or "bzip2 -d -c" on my install. See "bzip2 --help".

It just saves a little typing.

You can find my custom rom here

http://www.multiupload.com/M9V3ENVTPB

Then you can easily extract everything you want with unyaffs.

Remember that milestone is still a 2.1 device.
