I have tried searching the forum, but either am not able to word my search properly, or not many have faced this problem:

My Nitdroid N12 has successfully installed.

BUT, none of the apps I am downloading in Market are showing in apps... Where can I find them???

I've got a strange problem. When I'm trying to install opera or Firefox a always get a reboot. Is this normal? I did a clean install on a clean N900 fresh after reflash.

i have this same problem i tried this on mine but it still gave me an error basically saying it cant be completed because the directory doesn't exist. I'm confused

mount /home /and
cd /and

this is where your install fails with the above msg, you should be in a directory "/and" nested in that directory is another folder called "/sdcard" use the commadn rmdir in the next blank command line like "rmdir /sdcard" (you should really make sure its empty first) and then run this line:

tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/N11_Vostok.tar

again (press the up arrow a few times and you dont have to retype it) this should get past the bump. mind you when you boot the first time it can take about 10 minutes.

as an aside, is the GPS locating anyone else in russia? is google talk working?

Firstly, I'm assuming you're using NFS Shift Froyo version, unfortunately you'll have to look and search a bit for a version that works with Gbread, happened with me.

Secondly, AFAIK you won't find Gameloft games in the Android Market, because of that return money policy, so, yeah... you know what to do ;)

Hmm! I don't think so. The guys behind this project are working hard. I'm not surprised that it takes some times, we are talking abgout porting a full working OS to the nokia N900. It's not a kid thing! :D

Re: The Grand Nitdroid Thread - Massive Installation Scheme Update

WIKI updated, new section added (took me a whole 1hr:23mins to type :D) about installing NITDroid by repartitioning the eMMC, since I'm receiving a lot of messages about running low on memory space. Installation instructions added, and I'm ready for questions.

@fw190
You're wrong. Mighty E-yes cracked voice calling already, it's just a matter of time.

Instead of adding a new section for installing different versions of Nitdroid by the same way, I just split the WIKI to two parts, one for installing any version using the previous way (copying to /home) and how to repartition the internal memory.

Re: The Grand Nitdroid Thread - Massive Installation Scheme Update

Okay, here's the deal. I am sooo worn out with reading the zillions of post on how to install nitdroid correctly. I have been searching and trying all of these methods. I don't mean to be a noob but...hey..it is what it is.

Now what I've learnt is how to install the NITDroid to the emmc (which i've learnt is not an external card but the memory on the n900 itself anyways..) Well I have a 16gb micro sd class 10 and I want to install gingerbread/& nitdroid with multiboot on it.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASSSSSSEEE (be gracious and merciful please :( ) direct me to a post that's most helpful with doing just that please?

If even a youtube video or whatever can help me with doing this. So far all I've been able to do is get a multiboot option when I restart my n900 but the nitdroid option is never there and I'm also a little unsure if my 16gb micro has partitioned properly.

PLEASE HELP, IF EVEN YOU CAN SEND ME A PERSONAL MESSAGE! I REALLY WANT THIS! REALLYY!! :(

THANK YOU!

UPDATE: When trying to run nitdroid installation it stays stuck on Formatting /dev/mmcb1k1p2 (ext3).... :'( PLEASE HELP

Lol dude you're kidding me right?! I assume you're using the autoinstaller from the repos? This one is very old and it hangs while formatting the microsd and it installs a very old froyo version.

Actually....no Im not and honestly its the only one that explaons step by step how to install on the MMC instead of the EMMC. So thats y I kinda stuck with it.

Any other HELPFUL advice you may have? Like perhaps one that gets me the latest version installed correctly onto my micro and multibooted?

Thank u for responding

I've been messing around with libs, and libaudio, which is supposed to deliver sound, is open source on the google nexus, I fiddled around with it a little bit and got the sound from the earpiece, (I will upload a video and/or a sample I promise). However, sound quality is very bad, the sound is like "hehehehehellllllloelo" instead of "hello". Sound is too choppy and very noisy. Didn't test GPS yet but I'm being positive.
Now, to test other libaudios, if somebody here knows which are open sourced and which aren't please post, I'll not have to look through all of them.

P.S. This is just a testing thingy, I'm no big coder.

Let's talk business:
Calls: It's close.
Offline evernote: Are you talking about the offline mode bug in NITDroid? Bear in mind that it has been fixed since N11, and this is a bug in Android OS itself.
Battery drain in 4 hours: You sure you're not exaggerating? Install N12 Umay, setcpu, limits 250 805, conservative, and reply me.

I had some big problems with NITDROID. As I wrote earlier in this thread I had random reboots and was unable to install firefox and opera. Today I installed setcpu and when I lounched it the max was on 1150!!!! When scaled to 805 and conservative I was able to finally install firefox. Why was my cpu on 1150? Is that normal?

Well, can't tell you if it's normal or not, before you install setcpu (or similar) NITDroid uses one of three power configurations found in /and/etc/oc-profilexxx-xxx. One of these profiles as I remember is 500-700-1150, so I think this was used in your device.

However, good too see you're over your problems :)

EDIT: Since you're using setcpu, I recommend you to set the lower limit to 250, or even 125, to avoid turning you're N900 to a nuclear power plant.

Re: The Grand Nitdroid Thread - Rubbish Sound Quality while in A Call Achieved

Whenever I try to uninstall Nitdroid from my emmc using "nitdroid-uninstaller", I lose all my multiboot settings. I would like to keep 1. Default maemo, 2. Kernel Power 47, and 3. Multiboot-backupmenu.

Of course, as nitdroid-uninstaller uninstalls Multiboot, I tried to reinstall it as well as the Multiboot-backupmenu and Kernel Power images before rebooting. It worked for Backupmenu, as I get this choice when rebooting with the keyboard slid out. But nothing for Default Maemo or Kernel Power, albeit I reinstalled these images. :/

What am I doing wrong?

As I could get into Backupmenu, I restored my Rootfs which allowed me to restore my Multiboot menu and get back in Maemo, but this is not clean because the Nitdroid option is listed in Multiboot despite Nitdroid being removed from my device. :/

To remove the Nitdroid option:
Code:

rm /etc/multiboot.d/11-blablablabla (hit the TAB to complete)

To check if your uninstallation was clean can you post what folders/files you see under /home/ ?

You (NITDroid user) can hear other person talk, but s/he can't.
Audio is still not being rooted through the N900's mic.

EDIT: Oh, just to clear something by saying "hear" I don't literally mean hear, the only thing you could actually hear is some giberish from the other person.
