Does your tracking number show you where the parcel started from - somewhere in Poland, or not?

mine was released for shipping just got an email from nokia USA. Prepared for shipping. Finally something is happening with my pre-order.

Here is part of the email:

Dear Emilio G. Wagner,

Your preorder is being prepared for shipment. Your credit card will be charged when the product(s) will be shipped and you will receive a Shipment confirmation email from us.

Your order details
Order number : 10****
Order date : 26.10.2009

The rest is my card info and order detail.

I did initially pre-order on 9-13-09 I had to do the whole cancel and reorder thing that is why the date 26.10.2009 is shown.

I just checked my credit card and the cost of my order has been deducted from my available balance. I have not once had a hold on my card while waiting from the second reorder. My initial pre-order they put a hold on every weekend. So mine will be shipping very soon. cool.

Of course, that's assuming Amazon doesn't once again hike the price between now and then.

I did the same, emailed Amazon.com, got the price changed. But, are we still all waiting until after dec 25th?

STILL didn't say it has shipped lol. I mean who knows when they will ship...something might broke down...devices might get hijacked or get thrown around and broken up...i mean a lot of things can go wrong while they prepare...employees might get ill and contracted swine flu and had to stop the process...the whole site must shut down due to contamination...

Not sure if that issue was ever resolved. If they use the pre-order date then you would not be eligible for the rebate since the fineprint of the Nokia rebate seems to specify an invoice. Though oddly it's not listed as part of the required materials.

Code:

Please allow at least 8-10 weeks from receipt of request for delivery of your prepaid card. For status of your order, call 1-800-436-6394.
Please keep a copy of your submission for your records. Mail-In Form, dated store receipt and UPC/barcode panel must be postmarked by January 8, 2010 and received no
later than January 15, 2010. Submissions postmarked after January 8, 2010 or received after January 15, 2010 will not be accepted and are void.

It should be the date your CC was charged. An invoice is contract between you and the seller that obligations have been met (product from seller and payment from recipient) - a pre order is not. Otherwise if you ever had warranty service it would also expire based on your pre order date which makes no sense.

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

Tanisha just called me from Amazon, she stated after doing research that if I wanted to cancel and place a new order ( to get the rebate ), that I will not be in the back of the line. According to her, no matter what, all pre-orders of the phone will be fulfilled and it will be the regular orders that will have to wait for it. It doesn't matter if you pre-order at the beginning, middle or end, we all get our N900's shipped at the same time.

Just reordered and with a $14.72 promotion on top of that, I got it for $519.26 - $50 rebate comes out to $469.26

Nice Spinnukur, thanks for posting that info. After reading the NYC Nokia store thread, I am half-tempted to take the train in tomorrow and pick one up though...I'm bad when it comes to gearlust. :P Did she by chance reiterate to you if they would be likely to start shipments on Monday?

Again, thanks for keeping us posted!

My last couple of repair shipments from NOKIA USA have been shipped via USPS mail. Since overnight shipping is no longer available I suspect they switched from Fedex or UPS to mailing out phones. If we get USPS tracking numbers they are almost useless.

Sweet! I hope Amazon ships first (before the 30th) then so I can cancel my Newegg preorder. But $14.72 promotion? I'm guessing it's a goldbox thing or something?

I guess these guys had no idea how popular and "in demand" this thing would be so they didn't really put their man power behind it and make it total priority to get all their ducks lined up in a row and come off with a perfect ad campaign, perfect delivery time frame, perfect ovi store set up, perfect ******** tv commercials, etc, I think i am actually grateful for this device.
I have to have it.

Just when I was about to hit checkout on amazon to place a new preorder, their page changed to "sign up to be notified when this item becomes available." Good thing I haven't cancelled my newegg preorder. Maybe that's a good sign for those who preordered from amazon :)

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

Thanks spinnukur for this tip. I actually spoke with an Amazon representative today as well, but I got a different answer.

What I was told was that it could not be guaranteed that if I canceled my order and placed a new one, there would be no difference in the shipping date. She said it would end up depending on the total number of N900's they receive and the total number of orders placed. Then once shipping starts, it will go in priority of order dates and the methods of shipping selected (ie super savers go last). She couldn't give me an indication on when orders might start being fulfilled, as to the best of her knowledge Amazon had not received any shipments from Nokia yet.

She did, however, simply go into my account and reduce it by $50 so I would not have to re-order...effectively an instant rebate! Overall, she was extremely responsive and helpful.

It's possible my rep just wasn't as informed as spinnukur's (although she did check with several managers to get the information), but in any case I might think twice about re-ordering.

I've never filed a claim with SquareTrade, but if you do go with them, I received the following discount from them:

"Beginning MIDNIGHT Friday Nov. 27 - 40% off all warranties at SquareTrade (first 10,000 customers only). Enter code HOLIDAYMAIL."

They may not be useful for tracking, but at least it would be "proof" that something (ideally an N900) has left Nokia's hands and is on its way somewhere (ideally my shipping addres). :-)

I spoke with an amazon rep and I got the same answer as regulate23, shipment are based on first come first serve. He said they cannot guarantee that all preorders will be filled during first shipment. I hope spinnukur is right though.

Hey, thats wonderful news ... !! Instant Rebate :D .. Can you tell us the name of the person you spoke with, you reduced the price by 50 instantly ?

Also generally speaking, how do you guys call in to Amazon .. Although I have not tried speaking with them, my general impression about customer service people is that they are least helpful, and just tell you what their 'legal' information is ... :(

Also, what's this $14.72 something Amazon discount I'm hearing about :D .. ?
