on step 3 I get "failed no such file or directory" I have not partitioned my sdcard is that the reason?

@dj_steve got no wifi working on the new build? I choose the 03 option in new bootmenu. It boots up and when i turn on the wifi it scans for a period and then says somthing about 'unable to search for connections' and then turns the wifi off? Any ideas :)

I Have booted both 02 (fn - 3) and 03 (fn - 4) and they do the same?

I'm not on my main PC now, so I have no android tools/drivers installed nor the dump of the rom handy, and i hate to play with the console directly on the device, specially on the stupid android's one.

OK I have been following this thread for a while with much of the information going over my head just waiting for a dummies implementation of this great project.

Now with dj_steve's latest update which tutorial or step by step guide should I be following? Also, specifically, the sd card partitioning. Could some kind soul point me in the right thread to sort the sd card side of things out?

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

If you choose Android it flashed the kernel and then reboots into the kernel that android uses ?

dj_steve 2010-07-09 22:07

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

no multiboot does the flashing for you on boot :) all you need to do is disable r&dd mode

howto for partitioning :

@dj_steve i tried the thing you said and extrated the files again, but some how the mounting, mounted the rootfs on my maemo so now i'm at 0mb's left on my root? You know how to fix without flashing? Can i somehow revert it?

dj_steve 2010-07-09 22:14

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

simple, ls /and should show a load of files just do this if it does :

Code:

cd /and
rm -rf *

Lol you're the man steve :D

I'm not sure, though i think i just lost 10mb's on the root, cause i'm pretty sure i had about 62 and now it's just short of 52 after this litlle adventure...

Anyway thanks for the help ;)

dj_steve 2010-07-09 22:21

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

reboot probably free some up :)

and multiboot ads some more kernel modules so thats probably where 10 mb went

Nick502 2010-07-09 22:24

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

isn't it dangerous that it flashes everytime you reboot ?

dj_steve 2010-07-09 22:25

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

it only flashes if kernel doesn match one required for users choice of os, and no its not at all

It flashes only if the kernel is not the right one.

This should not be a problem, compare e.g. to the root partition which is on the same flash chip. "sometimes" data is written there as well...

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Hmm, still getting errors

got further this time though, but then I went into the gallery and it came up with SD Card umnounted, which is probably why the errors started

When it first booted I got a message at the top of the screen stating that my SD card was now safe to eject / remove
