I have installed bootmenu as u-Boot seems to have issues. How do I add Leste as an option in the Bootmenu listing?

I tried this:-

Nokia-N900:~# vi /etc/bootmenu.d/Leste.ext.item
ITEM_NAME="Maemo Leste"
ITEM_KERNEL="uImage"
ITEM_DEVICE="${EXT_CARD}p1"
ITEM_FSTYPE="ext2"
EOF

Exit with CTRL zz

But still do not get Leste as Bootmenu option

Hmm it is strange I looked up and the kernel-modules belongs to
Maemo 5 device root filesystem (>= PR1.2) and not as I thought from extra-testing.

So I would say it is the ssu/mr0 repository which needs to be enabled. Sorry for that.

Progress.
Kernel-cssu-modules was in conflict. removed it and ignored the end of world warnings - installed kernel-modules.
U-boot-flasher installed and managed to get Leste option on the boot screen. Leste is running! Many thanks to all!!!!

how to run as root?
Sudo Gainroot (from Rootsh) was how i did it in Maemo5.

I cannot find anything similar.

How to find IP address so I can SSH into it.

Still playing, but hope someone knows the answers before I find them the hard way.

This is amazing. N900 running a 2024 operating system. I was so nostalgic I expected to see Angry Birds in the HAM! :-)
