You can. draxcp6 already opened a conversation on this a few pages back

Just like pretty much any election in our democratic world (and indeed our non democratic world), there is nothing to stop you from voting for yourself. But we hope you will make a judgement based on who you feels deserves the vote rather than just "me me meee" :)

Alright cool. I was curious whether we could, i've never voted on here before, this thread moves so fast it's difficult to keep up with it!

Ive just made a genuine bug fix to square-it to prevent duplicate moves being made in an internet game, please use 0.0.8 :)

You have enough karma aStrike, but I suspect you haven't received one because you have only been a member for less than 2 weeks (registration date September 7th 2012).

One of the things that the maemo.org voting mechanism does is to filter out new accounts. Unfortunately I think this has worked against you in this case :(

It's beneficial for the competition to filter out newer accounts at the time of voting. Anyone who remembers back to the first coding competition will remember there was a bit of an incident where one or more developers were asking friends on facebook to sign up and vote for their apps. We had loads of fake votes for applications, in the end we had to discount a lot of these and the final placings ended up a lot differently in some cases. Unfortunately it can work against individuals who are not false accounts or spam accounts, and who are simply new members. i can only apologise.

I suspect the same reason. It's hard on genuine new members, I understand that :(

Thanks! Indeed you are right. After being the member of talk.maemo.org since august 2010 I tought that I would be eligible to vote. I did not realize that it is the maemo.org account that counts. Oh well.

Any way: good luck to every developer! :D

kojacker: Thank you for your explanation, I understand the reasons behind it and it does make sense.
Good luck to all the participants again! :)

To those who were able to vote today, how was the experience? Any problems or was it all pretty smooth and straight-forward-ish? I've had a look but I won't be placing any votes, so I'm keen to know if there's anything you found odd or strange that we should inform others about.

Darn that is unlucky jukra... you've obviously been around for a long time on tmo and it's unfair you won't get a vote imo but it appears to be the maemo.org account that counts for elections.
