Sorry was on phone last time.

Here's what happened. Rang the usual clueless people at MPD, asked where my phone was, he said no later than Thursday (it keeps gaining a day was initally Mon/Tues, then Wed, now Thurs). Asked him for a tracking number, he said they don't have them, I told him that's ridiculous, you send out a £500 phone without knowing where it is!

Anyway, I told him I'm fed up with being fobbed off, I want to know exactly when I'm going to receive it. He kept saying he didn't know. I asked whether they all went out from the same palce or from Nokia stores, he confirmed stores. I asked what store mine when from he said he didn't know, I was flabbergasted and told him (yes told not asked!) to find out where it was going from and to get me the number for the store.

So he gave me the Winchester number.

Rang and got through to a friendly lady that asked me for my name, and within seconds told me that it was one of the first they had bagged up this morning and would be in today's post, so it should arrive before 1pm tomorrow, so long as RM keep up their end!

At last a date, confirmation, no unknowns!!

So basically, push MPD for the store it's coming from then ring them (but be kind to the store - keep reading to find out).

I asked the lady why it hadn't been sent out last week, since I know of numbwer of people that ordered in Oct (I ordered 28th Sept) that received it last Friday!! She said they sent out around 40 units last week, but they don't decide who/what order thye go out in they are told my MPD.

So my best guess as to why poeple are receiving them out of order, is that each store has X units last week, then they are sent out in order for the region that store covers (hope that makes sense). Or MPD could be a bunch of incompetent **********ers!

I'm off for today and shall return tomorrow to let you know WHEN (optimistic!!) it arrives!

Phoned them Saturday morning and they said as long as I paid a £50 deposit over the phone to reserve it I could go in and pick it up as it would count as a pre-order. Got it free on a vodaphone contract - they're doing all the same ones as on the MPD/nokiaretail site.

Hi, thought I would post my pic since I instigated pic posting. :)

Has I mentioned in my previous posts, I left out, then postman came on Sat. I Collected today. Was scared at first because the box was so big, thought It wasn't the phone. LOL It came from Manchester store. Its is gorgeous, much smaller than I aspected. Looking forward to seeing you guys pics later! I know there are people who have got their N900 and now have left this thread without a peep. :( Dont be greedy spread the joy. :D

Just phoned Winchester Nokia. I was told last friday that it was being sent out but when I queried that (with a nice polite lady at Winchester) she took my surname and confirmed that it was going out today and that I will get it before 1:00pm tomorrow.

Glad I could be of assistance, sorry my last post was a bit long winded. Guess I got a little carried away.

So long as it does arrive tomorrow by 1pm, I'll have it in my hands on Wednesday evening! (I'm away from home you see but my OH's dad, is at my house until Wed morning, back in Brum on Wed, that's when I'll get my phone!!!!!!!)

Can't believe it's really on it's way! I feel a bit strange...tingly almost! ;) lol

Anyone knows if I can cancel an MPD pre-order at the NFS?

I was thinking to wait till tomorrow and if no communication by them (my PAC expires today, I called them yesterday - they had no clue on advise and emailed them today to figure out if they have dispatched), to visit NFS and order there if I can cancel the MPD.

Last week I followed Jon's advise (whose email by the way came from an MPD account) not to cancel and order through NFS, but it seems that people were walking in NFS as late as last Saturday picking up the devices straight away.

has anyone received their device and not got a call from mpd to confirm details? or do they call EVERYONE before they ship it? also if your status is "ready for dispatch", does that mean you won't get a call?
quick note: if i ever order from mpd again, someone people shoot me!!!!!!!!!!

Picked up my phone from royal mail today, at last, no change to other details in my sig. One more bit of info people may find useful is that they tried to deliver it on saturday but it was 3pm so the before 1pm is not to be relied on.

I ordered on 20th of October. I received e-mail 3 days ago. Actually my N900 spend weekend at Royal Mail office :D I was off and this morning I found a note from my postman. So I could have it on Friday. :)

Anyway, good luck guys. :) It's worth to wait for it.

Sorry, should have said in my first post that I simply kept ringing and redialling, took about 5+mins of constantly pressing redial, hanging up, redial, hang up...

Also, sometimes it rings then voice message, sometimes it goes straight through to voice message, just need to be persistant. Though there might be a few more people trying now, since my last post.

Also please note. I was not rude or angery towards the MPD staff (though it took a bit of holding back) just firm and a bit pushy/authoritive (which I'm not always good at but managed this time!)

Dexter is a great TV show, oddly I was given my nickname of Dexter a few months before the superb TV show had even been heard of!

If that's your nearest store it couldn't hurt to try. But remember they don't have access to all MPD N900 orders, just what MPD tell them to deliver from what I have gathered from my covnersation with Winchester.

Yeah salisbury haven't either, but he was very friendly and helpful- said he had hundreds of orders. He asked if I'd ordered October and said he was doing around the 16th now. He will call me if he finds it and do me first. Ah how nice to get some service.

I couldn't stand waiting for MFD to start offering upgrades - so I walked into Nokia Regent Street store and picked one up, sitting with it next to me and I have to say I love it!

LMFAO! I didn't even wait that long I got "Than..." Hang Up, redial...lol.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that a retailer that deals with communication devices, is so damn hard to communicate with?!

I've emailed them four times about the £2 credit check that hasn't been refunded into my bank (I know it's only £2 but it's MY £2!!) and not heard so much as an automated reply saying they are looking at it!! Grrrrr!!

Hi, my first post. Ordered my nokia n900 22/10 on t mobile web n walk 30 18 month contract, RM Card left saturday past and package returned to depot, my father has picked it up today and it should be with me in the next ten minutes, cant wait! Ive been waiting for this for ages, hope its better than my iphone 2g, im getting sick of that. I also noticed MPD dont offer on T-mobile anymore, whats the reason for this?? Thanks
