Sorry cloud I wrote the whole tutorial and then forgot to attach the *.zip file containing everything you need. Post has been udated with *.zip file, now you have everything :)

Update with new buttons and background where technical hitch has been overcome - the Sky image shoulda been upside down to make it a realistic reflection!!! Knew there was something wrong there....

Matter of fact, I need some help - I want to add another couple of buttons into the mix, one to enable the FM transmitter and another to disable it. The script comes from DCEW and is presented as

Me not being a coding expert I'm not 100% on what does what within the script and whether I need the "{print}" outputs, so in order to create this new button does anyone have any pointers on how to modify the script to work within a beecon?

Ok, so techie is a God at all things beecon related but I can't get it to update the icon once pressed and the FM transmitter is enabled - anyone know how to do this? Any help gratefully received....

Be completely honest with you Rich, I don't!!! I haven't got a clue, I only know what media I selected to play - I know that currently I have Adele's album 21 loaded and ready to play and I reckon it's probably on "Someone Like You", but that's a pure guess.

I would like to create a widget that shows the album art, album title, now playing (preferably scrolling), artist and perhaps track number but with my limited coding skills it might be just a bit beyond my current means....

Would the QBW buttons work in parallel with the default widget? I mean, presumabbly they work independently of each other but the widget should, in theory, display whatever track the QBW buttons are pausing or skipping, right?

Yep, the default widget certainly follows what the beecons are doing and displays the correct track / album art etc - as the beecons run through dbus to the media player (mafw) so they are intrinsicly linked anyway - spose it could always be dropped in somewhere and the *.png's for the buttons replaced with straight transparencies, to remove the buttons on the widget - though of course, they would still function. I'll have a butchers at that later on if I get the chance, but I've just been offered a new job :D so have a resignation to type up, a Limited Company to set up and an accountant to find to run the business side of things, coupled with the fact that I'm in Dresden for the next few days on business, so might not get a chance for a little while :eek:

Transpariences is a good idea, or take the easy way out and just use the oversized QBW to cover the widget icons.

Good luck getting the company up and running. If, in addition to an accountant, you need help with copy (website, business plan etc), feel free to PM me.

Question for you guys. With mods that go in the theme name, like the task switcher icons, is there a way to get those to remain even if you change themes? Like the desktop icons i changed them in hildon, so they remain if i use other themes. Any way to do this for the other mods?

@bwayne - I had this problem as well though I'm not sure I fixed it the right way, but it gives me the image, so type ywtemp.png into the result .png box (see screenshot 1) and my result (see screenshot 2) and see if you get an image from doing this.

If anyone can help me, it would be great. My yahoo weather beecon seems to be only partially working. It's weird - When i click on the beecon, it updates fine eg. I get the queen bee and the beating heart showing it's updated ok, but the results are always the same - The overall temp, the high, the low and the image - always, all the same. This is why I wasn't sure if I gave bwayne the right way to get the png image. I know I must be nearly there, but I don't understand what's happening. Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi All
Anyone can help. I have updated maemo5 on my nokia n900. After updating the whole night the phone went off and since I can't re start it. Anyone has met this before or has a solution. Appreciate

@ bigears5000 not sure if this will help you as I use DarkGUNMAN's older yahoo widget but if works fine for me with a few tweaks....

Hi SavageBrat. I also use the older version of his code, as I couldn't get the new one to work at all. I tried yahooweather.png instead of ywtemp.png, but weather widget then showed no image found. Cheers for the tip though.

me too im using his older version of his code,it was ok but now i doesnt show up the image:confused::(:(:(

Can someone with D4rk's iconset tell me how you change from that to other iconsets? I have changed my hildon icons to my custom ones, but i'm thinking of installing the D4rk iconset too

I just use thmecustomizer to change iconsets. Works with D4rk too!
