Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
How the hell do i get rid of the bios boot screen? I ran this to disable the RD mode:
c:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5> c:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5>flasher-3.5 --disable-rd-mode --clear-rd-flag s=no-lifeguard-reset but still get the boot menu screen. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Ahh I see i didn't add -R into the line. I actually cleared the rd flag as well to make sure the Nitdroid that didn't work won't causing the problem again. I'll try NITDroid again later. I need to do a proper partition. Autoinstaller failed badly.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

And there's no need for R&D mode, as mentioned in the install instructions. To answer your question earlier, I'm not sure if the auto-installer works or not, but if you read the script it points to a rootfs that's two weeks old, the rootfs version you want is from yesterday. |

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
oooops
Looks like my phone is in trouble. I've had it working no problem, yesterday and this morning. At the moment I can get to the boot menu, but then after I pic an option it just starts to load and then turns off. I've tried booting up with the keyboard closed and it also only gets so far and then switches off. Any advice from anyone would be great. |

so if I just try and boot normally, I get all the boot text scrolling on the screen. The nokia wording then comes up and the phone vibrates then it goes back to text and then back to the Nokia wording with vibrate and then back to text and back to nokia wording one more time, then back to boot text and then it shuts down. When I try and boot the droid os I select 4 from the bootmenu, and I get all the boot text and eventually it goes to the NITDROID screen with the Matrix style screen, then after a few seconds it goes back to text and the shuts the phone down. I think I recall reading in the text somewhere on the boot screen that it couldn't ssh something something. I'll try and record it so I can see more. anymore help would be great. |

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
i have some questions about running android on n900.
* so the phone will run in dual boot? (maemo and android) if so, will you be able to choose at boot? * can this be uninstalled? * if there was a problem in installing android will it brick the phone? is it possible to restore it again? |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
my phone now have the post boot text and cannot get rid of even after i disable the RnD mode. How do I get rid of this post boot? It's annoying looking at the post boot scripts on a phone, painfully that is. It's fine on the PC but this is not nice.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
I think i'm going to reflash my phone tomorrow. Since the custom kernel is not properly removed from my device. I still get the error: Custom kernel is unable to load.. blah blah.
Then I'll try this one again. |
Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic
Yesterday I got the marketplace to download by turning googletalk on, nice advice, thanks ;)
@Dj_steve or Jay-C is it possible in a future release of bootloader, for you to recompile one of the kernels to boot into maemo, so that the radio will work again. It's back to not working with the new bootloader, did try the 3 different options for maemo boot :) |
