Re: Let's talk Nokia stock. Really.

Just saw report from IDC and Nokia who was #1 / Top Mobile Phone seller worldwide merely a year and half ago... has now fallen off the top five list.

That means roughly:
Samsung - 31%
Apple - 15%
RIM - 4.5%
ZTE - 4.2%
HTC - 4.1%
Total ~ 59%
Remainder ~ 41% shared between Nokia, Motorola, LG, SONY, Pantech, Panasonic, Dell, ASUS etc etc with 4% and less market share.

That explains a lot of why HTC has made losses instead of significant gains, how Microsoft has made much smaller gains (lost money) and how Nokia didn't drop out as badly as expected (found money). And while the entire industry grew about 30-50%, this growth was split between Samsung and Apple. Scraps were left to ZTE, RIM and LG. The rest of the companies lost share.

We need other platforms and OEMs to win market before this turns into a mono or duopoly.

They are still number 2 according to IDC.

But off the list regarding smartphones.

Fake Stephen Elop @fakeselop

It's amazing how quickly people stopped buying our phones once we announced that they suck and we wouldn't be supporting them.
:B That's what I've been thinking.

it's only the 808 left now. Clearly Symbian marketshare is much smaller than before. This would have happened regardless.

As far as I'm concerned I used smartphones when total smartphone marketshare was 2-5% Nothing has changed since then. :D

Welcome to a new week!
