Other than the obviously bogus 'all apps come from the US' bit at the end that seemed pretty positive to me; it basically spun the N900 as being a laptop, but really really small. Which is good.

Well I'm pretty sure Nokia stated that said pre-order customers would receive it first. So in theory no one should be able to actually purchase an N900 from any store (looking & touching at flagship acceptable :p) , until the last batch of pre-orders are delivered.

No, they "ship". Just calm at the moment.

I'm curious if Nokia will tell us that this is for improved customer satisfaction because the devices will ripe during their journey as other fruits do.

Just called Nokia sweden.
The sells-reps have no information. The intresting thing is that they get their information from mobil.se, not from an internal source. (This is from the sells-rep 2 minutes ago.)

There is no information internally at nokia, about when swedish customers will start to recive their N900's.

Morning everyone. Good to see this thread is still going. For a minute I thought I'd have to do some work today :)

As for the comment earlier about Nokia retail getting there's first, aren't they run by MPD?

MPD are still saying next week

Re: N900 shipping delayed

MPD have over 500 orders for the N900 and realistically speaking, they couldn't ship all of them in one day.

Therefore delivery will be staggered over 2-3 days from the 17th based on a first come first served basis.

To be fair to them they always did say to me I should expect mine around the 19th.

yes they could
5 hours, 100 an hour
5 persons -> 20 packings an hour
60 minutes -> one each third minute

could be difficult :D

Re: N900 shipping delayed

Just received a message from Nokia Germany:

Quote:

Thank you for contacting the Nokia Online Shop.

It is true that, as in the press release written, has begun the extradition of the N900.

This means that the devices are supplied at the time to leave the plant and wholesalers, as well as our own warehouse.

"The delivery has begun," thus does not mean that the deliveries took place at our end customers.

At the present time lies before us, no other retail ship date as of 25/11/2009.

Please rest assured that you will keep as a Nokia shop online customer the equipment as one of the first users in their hands.
Now we know how it works in Background, as soon as Nokia Online Shop gets the devices they will ship to customers. But as the devices are still not in their stock, they have no other plan than the 25th.

I believe, we will get it much sooner.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

According to the link I posted yesterday, it was reported that the phones left the production facilities over the weekend, hence they should have arrived at the destinations unless they sent them by ship!

After thinking about it more and more nokia probably did use ships just to drag the whole process even more .

I received an answer from CyberPort Germany. They haven' yet got a delivery date from Nokia.

No reason to believe that the press release would let this thread die. It set a landmark, not more. Not far to post number 3000!

Answer from ComputerUniverse.net (Germany):

die Aussagen von Nokia sind uns bekannt. Was die Pressemeldung und auch der

latest response from MPD..

Hi

We have 500 or so pre orders and will be receiving around 1000 units from Nokia. The orders will be dispatched as soon as we get them; we can’t say the exact date due to the physical logistics of dispatching more than 500 pre orders, however we aim to complete the orders with 1-2 days.

Regards

So the 17th or 18th at the latest - I ordered on the 22/10...

Hi - i went to Regents st store on tues. I was told that the phone will only be available through nokia stores and MPD until end of dec this year. The same is for other service providers (other than vodaphone)

..... as for how true this is ...who knows ...but it might explain a few things.
