Mine is roughly the same if not better... no ACL, no Warehouse in my case. Dev mode on with chum repository and a lot of terminal play.

Do you have auto-updating mail accounts?
My battery life is slightly worse, but I give that to now working scheduled update of mail accounts.

Yup - 3 of them every 30 minutes. Works most of the time, at least in comparison to 1.0.3.8. I also have 3 XMPP accounts, which I switch on for about 4 hours a day.

With firefox and flash plugin it works on jolla, wouldn't count on native solution

Yes. But that solution is not topnot. It like n9...why cant this not be a standard. Write. Watch video. Must be a importand usecase for users around the world? Or are the world still stuck in single task small screen activists?

Jolla might have muktitasking menu but you can still only do one time at once. Samsung have multiview and video overlay. Sony have little app concept but still noone has a solution yet...

Anyone know if jolla working on multiview concept?

Can you explain "still only do one time at once" and this multiview that you mention, please? :)

use google or utube. But basically you can place things over the browser or have two application open at once on the screen. like a video and TMO write mail or sms at the same time.

But what I really need is that all browsers can show "all" video content in browsers so you can do other thngs in browrser like anserwing polls, chat or what ever...which basically only working in iOS today :(

I try to avoid google... plus I was interested to hear the problem in your own words, not somebody else's, I think the use case is covered in Sailfish, but of course it could be something more like you describe with a bigger screen. i.e., not sure you can write a post here + watch a video on a screen as small as the Jolla's or most smartphones, but you can certainly watch a video in the multitasking screen while interacting with another application's cover. My most common example is reading Tidings while watching something relatively long that doesn't require 100% of my attention.
What you say, however, is a good fit for tjc's skunkworks ;-)

You can watch a YouTube video and browse internet at same time, but, I don't think you can, in general, have multiple streaming anymore on android (Please correct me if I'm wrong as I would like to see this!). With Ice Cream Sandwich you could watch multiple youtube videos simultaneously with certain browsers. But with Jelly Bean you can only watch one at a time. What Google giveth Google taketh away...

Edit: I think you can stream youtube and vimeo videos at same time...

How in the world can I get my Jolla backup out of the device if I don't have an sd-card right now?

Found this https://together.jolla.com/question/...out-of-device/ but when I try to change the directory to something else than SD card, it refuses to make the tar

Any advice?

Code:

[root@localhost ~]# tar cf $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/home/user/vault.tar -C $HOME .vault
tar: /run/user/0/home/user/vault.tar: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
[root@localhost ~]#

You could pipe the stuff out via netcat, I guess. It depends on how you are connected, but I assume you are running in recovery console, and have telnetted in from a computer via USB, right?

On your computer, start netcat to wait on a socket: (anything will doo but usually I use 8888 for random stuff...)
nc -l 8888 | tar xvf -
On your recovery console, push the vault to your computer: (now I am assuming your computer-end-IP is 10.42.66.80...)
tar -cf - /home/nemo/.vault | nc 10.42.66.80 8888

What I forgot to say, of course you need to mount your mmcblk0p28, of course. (but you already knew that, right...)

I have a few questions to you users:

Does the music player play ogg natively? Does it have support for album art? And most important of all, does it support gapless playback?

I don't think it has gapless playback though.

Self-inflicted?
[nemo@localhost ~]$
[nemo@localhost ~]$ uptime
08:43:34 up 19 days, 22:21, 1 user, load average: 0.40, 0.57, 0.40

I wish, just the random restarts that nobody knows why they happen, seems mostly from network related issues

Well that's how it is supposed to be, as linux uses up all the available extra memory as file cache. :D

For example, my desktop machine has 4G of RAM, however system shows only 135M of free memory, when there in reality is almost 2G of the good stuff available. Actually my Jolla shows that it has about the same amount free (133M) when it has in reality about 440M free.

Wot you serious??
Do you really get on the average 7.85 reboots a day???
A reboot every three hours ????
(from your figures, 55/7...)

Joking a bit. On heavy usage my Jolla boots many times per hour. When on idle it mostly stays on. This is not fun, though.

Far from fun, yes. I wonder how heavy is your heavy use, and if it has something to do with your reboots...?
Or else you may have flaky HW.

for myself, I cannot say I am experiencing anything like that, as you can see above my uptime passed 20 days just few hours ago, and reason for that is i booted my device just to get to play with the recovery console a bit, so zero spontaneoùs reboots since I installed Ohijärvi.

It seems bit of a long shot for me, but have you tried this: https://together.jolla.com/question/...#post-id-36965 ?

I did that and no reboots since. Though, my reboots have been lately much more random so a few days without reboots can be just a coincidence.

Bad / intermittent electrical connection with the battery?
Yes, I suppose that could account for all sorts of random trouble...

That's nothing:

15:50:33 up 20 days, 14:32, 0 users, load average: 1.63, 6.49, 7.65

Sorry, could not resist. :)

Though I wonder why my load averages were that much higher than yours. Jolla has been eating more battery after Ohijärvi came out, so perhaps some process is having party in the background.

Mitäkuuluu was updated around the same time with 'create server connection in separate thread' defaulted on. that eats a shitload of battery :p

Since you have so many reboots... After you have tested the paper fold supporting the battery trick, and if it does not help for you:
Does it reboot under heavy load if your phone is connected to a charger?

tissot 2014-04-07 13:36

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

If you can get any paper there, then yes you have a problem. I actually just yesterday was having trouble getting my battery out of the phone after I got the phone crashing.

As far as reboots go, my phone has been mostly trouble free. Around 3 since the phone launched.

my reboots seem to happen when I attempt to go on any sort of network use. But not everytime I use the network

I have had reboots only in case I keep WIFI and mobile data BOTH on and I happen to be in bad radio coverage area (smoking room in the basement fo example). When using only one of the connection types at the time, I have no issues at all.
