I also got the email from Expansys asking me to confirm my order or let them allocate it to someone else.

I placed my order when their website had the mistaken $199.99 price. Because I live outside the USA, Expansys wouldn't process my credit card and they asked if I was willing to pay by bank transfer. I replied yes, and immediately received instructions to pay $314.94, including delivery to Trinidad and a $30 "wire-transfer fee". So I paid.

I have replied to Expansys saying I have already paid and asking them to ship asap. I have no idea what will happen next. The Terms and Conditions on Expansys' web site refer only to correcting pricing errors "before payment is processed". My payment is already processed, so maybe I'll be lucky and get a bargain.

Somehow I doubt it.

No just Skype built into the IM framework. That works well, it becomes part of your general 'presence', Hipe this gets extended to AIM and YM as well.

dormant, somehow I can't find it in my heart to celebrate somebody anticipating a successful ripoff of another. I hope you pay full retail price.

The N900 KBD is MUCH improved over the N97. Still only 3 rows, but the 2 extra columns make a HUGE diff. Big adds are the unshifted comma, and the Blue-alt key moved to the right. Off center space bar still weird but I fear I am getting used to it.

AIM and YM aren't part of the IM framework yet? o.O. Is MSN/LIVE part of the IM framework? If so you could always use that to talk to people on the YM network. What about Facebook? (granted I don't use Facebook chat but always nice to have options).

@Hogwash

You can already do that with the n800/n810 sort of. With Google chat (granted it's terrible quality).

-1

It's not a ripoff.

They erred in the process they used when they charged him. He preordered like everyone else.

I hope he gets it (then comes to Chicago and lets me play with it :D)

In The IM framework is Ovi, Skype, Google Talk, and Jabber. Most of these (if not all save skype) are built on the OMA Open IM standards. I assume that other will come, but not sure of the route. The framework makes it harder for people like NimBuzz to make a living my adding a a full client, as the client is already there - you just plug in the plumbing. And there is no money in plumbing. Maybe the AIM and YM guys will do it, but again without a client to show adverts, why would they bother? Maybe Open Source to the rescue, but some of these protocols have to be licen$ed. hard nut to crack.

I also hope Expansys will honor their own rules in dormant's favor.

He has paid in full, long before anyone else and by expansys' own admission, it's already an agreed price for the item.
