yes it looks correct. You don't need to be root since this homedir for user that is owner. It's actually better to be user so the files get the right owner.

Sorry to bother...when you MyDocs, which folder is it? root? Documens?
:D

@schnebeck Yes, the icons seems to be broken. Could you point me to a place where I can download them, please?
Thanks,

I *think* that the xpm directory of the testing navit package is broken (many 0-bytes png files) I used my own icon package for the last screen-shot

Can you upload your icon package here?

Ok, I download Navit from svn and compiled myself to get the problematic png files and uploaded then:

Re: Navit on N900

The gui is from extras-testing 'navit-gui-gtk'.

The program seems very unstable trying to enter, destination causes it to close. .Also the destination database for uk map does not have many entries.

I have not found how to set voice to english yet.

Re: Navit on N900

I'm back to my self-compiled version. navit from testings runs 5min at its best before crashing, while the self compiled version is rock stable with gui-gtk and now also quite stable when using gui-internal.

Okay. Now I'm getting confused. So what's the best method to install/setup right now?

If someone have it working perfectly, can the files/steps be provided?
(Other than the actual map download which I can do myself. hehe)

In order to get English voice:

Code:

echo '<speech type="cmdline" data="echo '%s' | espeak -ven+m2+croak" cps="10"/>' > /home/user/.navit/speech.xml
