That's okay, I don't think any of us have an answers just yet...

Well, if you're looking for questions, here's one that it should be possible to answer - who (if anyone) on the Community Council knew about this before Feb 15th?

One thing really bugs me: how can we make sure that the council becomes meego council too? That would smooth the ride for sure :)

I can't answer that for anyone else. I didn't know specifically, myself... I knew *some* big change was coming but that's no more than the rest of you knew based on rumor. I had also been asked to hold off on all the work I'd been doing, which led me to suspect it would become unnecessary, which hinted to me that community identity was at stake.

It certainly should, but what about the Moblin community?

Maybe it makes sense to form a transition team out of current leadership from both sides. Yeah, it sounds dictatorial to suspend elections, but...

Expand the council? Have them elect their own transitional council and have the two councils work together with the next election to be a combined council? Have each group choose a champion for a fight to the death, and the winning side gets their council in charge?

Problem with suspending elections is that the current council sure as hell didn't sign up to be the fall guys through a process like this. You might want the job, (and I'd vote for ya!) but your co-councillors may not feel the same way.

You're absolutely correct. Right now I cannot say what is the best overall method for transition, much less get behind any details...

Moblin doesn't seem to have close match to community council.
Comparison of Maemo and Moblin community resources. Closest match is Moblin Steering Committee and all it's members seem to have Intel e-mail adress...

I really would like to see a Transitional council named as soon as it is feasible to do. If current council members would stay for the ride, that's even better (quicker).

In my experience however, transitional activity is labor intense, so you could have ppl stay and elect new ones too.
