yes I also see black screen just like keiel.
but I can set wallpaper from image view.
but I'd like uninstall these 3 things from my device
if anyone know how please teach me how to delete them

1. m-h-d.install
2. hildon-home_0.3.58+0m5_armel.deb
3. modified-hildon-desktop_1.13_armel.deb

I install [1] first and [2] and [3]..
is there anyway to delete them?? uninstall them??
or do I have flash my device..?
if I do flash my device Im going to lose everything right??
and how to flash the device..??

please teach me ~~ I really need help

If someone with black background (after installing hildon-home and modified-hildon-desktop_1.13) can reboot, see if the problem still appears, and then send to me the output of the three commands:

ls -l /usr/bin/hildon-*

dpkg -l modified-hildon-desktop

gconftool -R /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/views

I might be able to debug this issue.

If you want to uninstall, the easiest way is to install the hildon-desktop and hildon-home packages from Nokia's repository.

I followed various steps and managed to get 9 desktops side by side with working wallpapers for each but if I go to "manage views" I can only see 5 desktops. Not a big problem but it would be nice to fix it.

Did I read correctly that it's not possible to setup the desktops in a 3x3 grid so that we can scroll in an X or horizontal or vertical for quick access to each of the 9 desktops?

It is possible to set them in a 3x3 grid with the following limitations - up and down movements only with keyboard, not with touch screen dragging.

Using touchscreen for vertical desktop changing requires a bit of programming, and it seems that no one is interested enough is this feature to do this work.

why can't u take the time for the required programming to scroll vertical with touchscreen???

please someone should do the programming!!!

ya man. somebody really needs to do the programming. the modified version 1.13 causes the back screen and the no wallpaper selection problem.

Looks great. I've read somewhere that Harmattan was going to have a full 2D matrix of homescreens, so the 'Nokias' must have seen the value of it as well :)
