I usually average 3-6 Mb/s but frequently receive up over 7 and 8 Mb/s.

Now switched to Three PAYG sooo much better than O2:

Have to admit O2 was better for uploading photos though, if the speed test is accurate. But then uploading it doesn't matter so much how long it takes, its in the background, but web browsing was painful on O2.

It depends on where you live. Some places don't have the higher speeds yet... For example whre I live we just got 3G at all on T-Mobile about the same time N900 came out (December), so I don't expect fast speeds any time soon...

I actually hit 100KB/sec download the other day in my N900 on T-Mobile USA. That's my best speed so far :)
