Thanks a lot! There is so much information on these boards it's rediculous. I've done more with my phone in the last two days than I had done in the three (3) months prior! Sad, I know.

No official MMS support was ever promised ( see
http://wiki.maemo.org/What_can_we_realistically_expect ).

Past that, well, did you follow the information in the wiki? Who's your provider?

Well, Nokia said they would support frals in his project. And thus for a reliable, consistent user experience, they had no other choice than to give him the kind of support they always give.

SCNR. Really.

Chris.

Please help....

I am curently sobbing into a bottle of wine... :)

My FMMS has worked fine for as long, and when i hit update today i was rightly nervous...

Ive got it all set up, and all seems to be ok...

Seems..... I can send MMS, but if someone sends me one back, there is no sigh of it.. Nothing, no push messages, or texts, no flicker off the fone..

Any ideas...

Im UK Vodafone..

When u put ure number in the settings how do you put it? ie 00447717...... or 07717..... etc etc

For the record, the help I've gotten from Nokia has been significant, from a complete UI/UX overhaul with their own interface designers to solving loads of different technical problems. :)

Please, and this goes for everyone, I understand you might be frustrated about Nokia not implementing this themselves and that my solution is by no means perfect. But saying "this doesnt work" contributes absolutely nothing. If you want any help, PLEASE, AT LEAST READ THE FIRST POST OF THIS TOPIC.

Thank you. :)

Kind regards,
Nick

Can someone please take a quick sec to explain the new addition of 1.0.2

It now handles its own APN, so there is no need for Fapn, correct?

An when putting in ure number it goes like 004477 or 077 or +0044 etc etc, i think some of my problems may lie here

Rgds

Ps Nick/Frals - Uve been my hero for almost 3 happy (until today) months :)

It's been handling it's own APN since 0.9.x'ish, so you don't need to create the APN with fAPN anymore. However, if you upgraded from a version where you used the APN created with fAPN (basically, any version prior to 0.9.x) you should NOT delete the APN you created as this will make fMMS no longer function :)

The your phonenumber field depends on your carrier, as of 1.0.2 you can insert "0" in to that field and hopefully the MMSC can handle that properly.

As you are not receiving any SMS Push anymore I'd guess Vodafone might have disabled MMS on your account all of a sudden, you could give them a call and ask them about it.

Either way, please see the section called "Help Improve" in the first post in how to help me troubleshoot the problem in more detail. Thank you! :)

Re: [Announce] fMMS - MMS on the N900

Ok before anyone tries to bash me, let me start by saying I did read the fmms wiki, i folowed the directions exactly for a tmobile USA phone. i first installed fapn and created a tmo mms apn, then i confgured fmms to use this apn, it was like a gamble though, sometimes i would connect and receive the mms, but othertimes i kept getting error messages saying I am unable to connect. I also was never able to send an mms so i gave up and uninstalled both fapn and fmms. now that there was an update which says it should configure automatically i reinstalled it, but it defaults to the settings i had put in initially even though i uninstalled it. is there a way to clear the memory and do a clean install?....without having to reflash my n900?
