One question more: is there a way on n900 to extract all text from a pdf into a txt file?

I'm only familiar with the built in PDF Reader and as far as I know you can't copy text from a PDF.

Actually, I was just playing around with the picture manager of the N900 this weekend; I dumped a pile of something like 1000 pictures on the thing to see how it would handle it. Well, here's where most opinions diverge on the N900. I personally really like the resistive screen. Yes, it is not as durable as a glass touchscreen, and yes, that means I've been more worried about allowing it to bump into things than I was with a capacitive screen. But the increase in precision is amazing!

Honestly, I've never felt comfortable with putting the N900 in my pocket. Then again, I never really put my iPhone in my pocket either, so I'm probably not going to help you much with this one. :)

And here is where "open source" makes all the difference. Nokia may or may not provide any support in the future, but if they do not, others can step in and provide fixes for code where the source is available. And even if they do not, you yourself can download the source and support yourself. It may not be easy, but unlike all the other options out there, it is possible. :)

Then you know wrong :-)

You can extract the text from ANY pdf, even if it's protected, at least with evince under ubuntu...

And yes, you can extract the text from a pdf in your N900 using pdftotext command in the console

Copernicus , I agree with you in everything, and who needs nokia when Mohammad and many people in this forum are doing such a great job with the CSSU!!

With Nokia we asked if there was going to be an update that semester.... with CSSU we ask if there is going to be an update today! (and today we have an update!) :D

In a lot other threads there are a lot of people with problems or talking about lacks of n900 so I preferred ask here.
