Indeed. You guys might want to look up Unisys. The joining of Sperry Univac and Buroughs to create a computer company bigger than IBM. For about a week. From 120K employees on the day of the merger to under 30K in about five years, IIRC.

Unisys still survives...as a consulting company.

So what you are saying is MS will crash along with Nokia? if so that is a complete never going to happen simply because of the size of them unlike tiny companies in comparison you have named.

I still want to know what the 2 wrongs are !.

No. Nokia is in trouble right now, and so is MS - seemingly. You have to remember, Ericsson almost purchased Nokia in the mid 90s when Nokia was in REAL trouble. The case now is nothing compared to how it was then. Nokia may loose market shares, but they are selling more smartphones than ever.

Both Nokia and MS know exactly what to do. They must create a platform that is easy to use, yet have features that only geeks wants. It must be secure, yet be hacker friendly enough for the "XDA-devs" around the globe. It must be smooth and nice, yet rough enough so that "improvements" can be done.

It will be great.

If Nokia fails with WP and M$ won't buy them, they will release android devices. No doubt about this.

What??!

I'll just leave this quote to stand by itself, as a monument to the sheer infinite nature of human stupidity.

They were selling more smartphones than ever. From Q4 2010 to Q1 2011, Nokia total smartphone sales declined for the first time ever.

It may be too late by then. Nokia is diving fast and the ground is closer by the day.

I don't understand a lot about the market so I'll ask a simple yes or no question. Should I buy Nokia stock right now? (I know there are all kinds of things involved but I figured I'd ask anyway)

I don't believe this is smart, so the simple answer is: No.

Better bet on Nokia bankcruptcy or even further falling stocks...
but on the other hand, I don't understand anything either about markets, can't even remember the name for those brainf***** constructions where you bet on falling stocks and the like... so better don't believe what I say.

What would you buy right now? better to wait and see what comes out in the next 6 month or so unless you want to buy a cheap N900 from ebay and join in full time here ;).
