If it doesn't catch on in the US there's always the rest of the world.

I'm excited about this and BB10.

I'm going to hold my wife off, on replacing her N900, until we see which hardware keyboard variants become available from Blackberry and Samsung.

If neither one of those pans out, then it'll be android.

I've heard about Tizen parts of conference being mostly uninteresting, from view of Maemo/Mer guy, so you can scratch everything You've written.

As for device being totally uninteresting, it's my opinion.

It's just a developer's prototype, it looks more like a real phone than some of the Maemo prototypes we've seen over the years.

Or there is no such thing as Linux based "Meltemi".
Would think weird, if Nokia still would develop both S40/Symbian based "Meltemi" and Linux based "Meltemi".

And because Nokia is Microsoft's own biatch (lumia in spanish), I would not think Elop allows anything in Nokia to be based on Linux.

Yes, that would be weird. But the 306 there looks to just be an updated version of S40 to me.

AFAIK Meltemi is Linux-based, but not MeeGo-based. It's based on another Linux distribution with ARM support.
